Best decision AMD made was getting rid of their own fabs, Global Foundries (which is stuck on 14-16nm), and using TSMC to produce their chips. If Intel produced their chips on 5nm node,

From all reports, the Nuvua guys were working on server chips. I'm sure how that's going to translate to mobile phone socs. If the cores themselves were designed for server loads, I'm not sure how they'll perform running mobile apps. But given that the CEO designed Apple 's A series cores, he should know what to do.

looks like after the industry got a taste of the Apple M1, they got awoken from their complacency, that is Qualcomm and Intel. Intel announced a new CEO with engineering background and long time Intel employee.

There’s no such a thing, just a new tech which need time to get optimized. Snapdragon 888 is in exactly same situation now, well it’s even lot worse like you can see from this genshin impact video https://youtu.be/GmEx4rdTFsU so bad performance. I wonder what will happen with upcoming Android phones :D it’s going to be so much fun, it’s like removing charger thing again. Droidboys goes crazy for this thermal throttling and now/soon they are in exact same situation :D will you guys never learn?

And check out Gary Explains and the A14 did not even have a throttling issue, with the performance only reduced very slightly under sustained load.

What we need is competition for the M1...hope Qualcomm can cook up something faster than just Cortex derivatives.

We need the transition to ARM on Windows but it won't happen with crappy Snapdragon processors.

Qualcomm will certainly benefit from this acquisition but will it be able to beat Apple is doubtful. However, if they do then it will be quite interesting to see how Apple responds.

The legendary bionic processors are all made by tsmc.seems interesting move.
Besides Qualcomm is almost taking over apple for the very first time ever.
My take is they are not the only competitor in android ecosystem anymore.
Kirin 9000 rocks benchmarks thus next year exynos will be powered by rdna gpu.
Who knows may be they are not willing to be the next “ intel “ which torn apart by Amd then destroyed my Apple M1.Guess that’s scary enough for Qualcomm.
