-What a difference two years makes. On October 4, 2018, taking over the Capitol was just another form of protest.
On that date, The Hill reported, “More than 300 people were taken into custody by police on Capitol Hill after descending on a pair of Senate office buildings Thursday afternoon to protest the confirmation process of Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee.
“The vast majority of the arrests, 293, were a result of protests in the Hart Senate Office Building, where protesters crowded in the atrium. Loud chants could be heard throughout the building, which is structured so the hallways of each floor open up and look out onto the first floor.
“Those arrested in Hart were charged with crowding, obstructing or incommoding, according to Capitol Police. Another nine people were arrested on the fourth floor of Dirksen Senate Office Building and charged with unlawful demonstrations.”
CNN also called the crowd protesters.
On Wednesday, CNN called pro-Trump protesters who stormed the Capitol “rioters.”
NPR called them “far-right insurrectionists.”
In 2018, NPR called the anti-Kavanaugh crowd “demonstrators” and titled its coverage of the storming: ” ‘We Believe Survivors’: Demonstrators Throng Capitol Hill To Protest Kavanaugh”

This really all put the light on the problems with how to handle the content on these platform.
* One one side it is terrible if there is no control so people can claim anything without proofs.
* On the other it is also terrible that it is up to a commercial company to decide what they like and dislikes.
The old model from newspapers with an editor is too slow, so a new system is needed so things are curated without a few people needing to read everything.
And no, I have not got the ideal answer, but I imagine something a bit like beta-testing, where things are put out to a limited group first, and await reactions from those, before going generally in public. Maybe people selected somehow 'at random'.
And it will be part of the 'payment' for using the service that we as a 'public duty' have to read and put thumbs up or down for a certain number of comments before we can post/read further. IF an editor later sees that our judgement was clearly wrong, it should impact our reputation. A certain portions of "Skip" should be allowed.
Only the comments with a substantial portion of thumbs down then gets to an editor/moderator. Plus some random samples and those flagged of course.
BUT this is not ideal, as this COULD lead to close circuits (echo chambers) where all accept the same stuff, even if it is unfounded nonsense, and this will just create bubbles rather than fruitful debates.

Thinks that currently happen in the USA, will have an affect in other parts of the world.
Here in Europe for example, are already some countries that want to cut the total control of these Goliath like US monopoly companies have.
Politics and Technology (Software like YT & Snapchat are also part of it) are deeply inter-connected.

This is a purge and won't "heal the divide" 75 million people just voted for Trump, this coordinated attempt to silence him and his supporters is just going to divide people even further.
Same with the sham impeachment, he didn't incite violence I implore anyone who hasn't read the transcript of what he actually said to do so. The media just don't like Trump because he's disruptive to them, he doesn't play their games and he calls out their BS. Big tech and media don't like that
