So first it was Huawei because they were accused of spying - no proof provided.
next was drone maker DJI accused of selling to drone to assist in human rights - no proof provided.
and now its another rapidly growing company Xiaomi because of military ties - no proof provided.
Various lists and dozens of companies blacklisted in multiple ways.
Who falls for this nonsense???
Its a trade war and propaganda dressed up as national security and nothing more.

Is funny how they are banning only the Chinese companies that has the most sales and the most profits (Huawei and Xiaomi). Nobody is saying anything about One Plus, Realme, Oppo, Vivo, etc.
I mean, is clearly a financial decision, rather than a security one.

Once Xiaomi overtook apple this was inevitable. Look how they sanctioned huawei, they overtook apple some time back. Anyway this is not a full on ban. Xiaomi can use American tech, lol like the us need money from Xiaomi, but don't sale it in the us. Ok.
I'm happy for this sanction, now Xiaomi will join huawei and become mega. Good for us consumers. Next ban is TCL, OnePlus .
US won't sanction samsung or lg, they want korean displays and storage.
Google and iOS is gonna be limited to the north america soon.

The only difference is that Trump does not try to hide behind demagogy (or is not capable of).
He is a true face of an average American and their real wants and behaviors
(albeit a blunt and a rash one).
The others before him were just saying what people wanted to hear. But were steadfast in the pursuit of political and perhaps even military dominance in the world.
Oh.. Unless by "World" you mean "America". In that case forget what I just wrote, because yeah, for the first time Amerca was thrown into a type of chaos it has been making for random countries around the world since WW2.

North Korea, China, USA, and countries with civil war should never be included in any business. I don't think India given its politics either. We will see how the market evolves but it is clear that investments must be shifted to more friendly and stable areas.

If anyone thinks it is Trump alone deciding this, they are deluded. It is the american govt hawks, business lobiers and American tech companies who are pushing and motivating Trump and decision makers behind the scenes.
The US want to retain their dominance and control of tech and financial products throughout the world so they can control all nations through sanctions.
