I meant the same. They have guts to do experiments. And they should keep that continued because they can afford to do the same.

I am glad they will continue to making smartphones! Now they have to come with a better marketing strategy, better pricing, sell their phones worldwide and they will start to rise.

Featu... moreI think the same. customers who want alternative to samsung (excluding chinese phones), only way to go is LG or Sony. LG is not giving us a chance. I really wanted to buy a LG V60, had to settle up for S20FE because its not available. LG's marketing team is a joke.

Kriegsherr, 16 Jan 2021how is it a good one if I cant buy even if I wanted? LG V60 is not available most of the places. Okay, that is a good point. I myself have to import one from the USA to get it. Same story with the Wing 5G. I did see LG ramping up the marketing like the Unbox Therapy Wing 5G ad, but the official region availability is still not that wide.

You are actually right. The main problem LG has for me is availability and marketing.

Yeah, sure, they're not stopping making niche devices at $2k price points. And they're not stopping giving away orders to ODMs to make budget phones for them, and sticking LG sticker on them.

                    LG V60 in Europe - $1000.
Velvet - dropped camera quality, removed quad dac, added curved display... it's a shock they kept 3.5mm jack there.
LG G8 variants? I couldn't find it on sale anywhere with a reasonable price (found refurbished devices imported from USA, all with burn-in).

Yeah, LG is not giving up on selling overpriced merchandise! They gave up on flagship models with modest pricing, so now they're concentrating on Lamborghinis of smartphones - ultra niche, expensive, small batch products.

If LG keeps the 3.5mm jack + Expandable Storage combo! With their next flagship and reasonably priced! I'll definitely pick them up as replacement to my Galaxy S9 w/c.

Why would they give up on smartphone when they are still making money from it (not much money but still) also isn't LG has the third place of US Smartphone Market Share (please correct me if I'm wrong)

I have no problem with their flagship and premium midrange phones, LG is the one that can give a complete and stellar package that can even embarrass a four-figure smartphone. It's the midrange and entry-level smartphones that need some attention, mainly because of the super tight competition from the Chinese smartphone brands. At least LG has decided to leave the production for midrange and entry-level smartphones to third-party manufacturer, so at least there is a light of hope since Samsung also did that since December 2019 and it proved to be a success.

Can people who like IOS and do not like Apple pricing switch to other IOS manufacturers? No. So basically Apple can do whatever they please and to some extent they are doing it.
LG can't do the same thing. People who find their prices high, they will just go to other Android manufacturers (which a lot do, looking at the numbers of LG phones sold).
