Shady69, 19 Jan 2021never knew that 5 comes after 3In chinese language the number 4 sounds like the word death.

That's why they jump the forth generation.

But with this design I believe that death is coming anyway to rog line Lol.

I guess, they are not naming it 4 because of bad omen associated with the number in their culture.

Spyder312, 19 Jan 2021I wanna try rog phone.. I'm currently using OnePlus device.. if anyone have rog experienc... moreIt's a very good phone. I daily drive the ROG Phone 2, and let me tell you this: people always overexaggerate its flaws. I use it daily for photos and it's not not bad. used GCAM mod with it and it takes great photos, quality that can rival my coworker's iPhone SE 2020. Videos are just awesome as well. 4k 60fps with stabilization and the quality is just so beautiful
120 Hz is fantastic. going back to 60 Hz feels clunky, even on iPhones
the battery life is great. I can easily reach 2 days with it, depending on usage. there was a software bug w/Android 10. make sure you update to at least the Dec security patch. that should fix the battery drain. though, that issue is mostly for the Tencent Variants
give it a shot. for me, this is the best phone I have used, coming from Samsungs, iPhones, LGs, etc.

Shady69, 19 Jan 2021never knew that 5 comes after 34 is a Chinese unlucky number (IIRC because spoken aloud it's similar to the word for "death") so it's common for phone ranges to skip the number 4 if they're either from Chinese manufacturers or expected to sell heavily in China. (And 8 is lucky, hence Snapdragon 888 and all the 8s in China-targeted gambling businesses regularly seen sponsoring Premier League soccer teams these days.)

Hence why OnePlus went from the 3 to the 3T to the 5. Obviously they then went to a T as a mid-year refresh because they've become what they set out to destroy, but the initial 3T was the 4 without using the unlucky number.

I'm SO glad they kept the bezels. That notification screen looks really cool!

So long as they bring back the headphone jack (since 888/888+ has an integrated 5G modem this time), at least add OIS to the main cam, and add mmWave to the US (A) version, I would wait for this device.

...I really wish it would have expanded memory though...shame ROG will never bring that over...
