It will probably hold it's price even though there are better models for the price because it's got good North American/Latin American band support. (fdd 12 & 17, in addition to bands 2 & 4 -- and if you use TMO towers, you get 5g in some areas).
The only other low-to-mid priced Xiaomi alternatives for our region is the Poco M3 Pro wthich has bands 12 & 17, plus band 66 (good for TMO). However, it only has one speaker and the micro sd slot is hybrid, whereas 9T has a devoted slot.
There are also two mid-priced phones we can choose from with same bands -- the Mi 11 Lite and the Poco F3 -- but they are over $100 extra.

The question here is, who is it for?
Well, basically it is targeting the budget 5G tier, so comparing it to other non-5G phones isn't really a fair comparison as there are better alternatives.
Cheap 5G is it's main selling point, for better or worse.

It is good to have IPS LCD in Redmi Note 9T. Since the blue oled tends to degrade with time. colours won't be produced as intended in OLED displays. But the IPS LCDs will stay as good as new, even after years.
so I prefer Good IPS display than the OLED.

I have AMOLED phones and LCD phones and I prefer LCD due to true whites. UIs are mainly white nowadays(not black like galaxy S2 era) and LCDs display whites better than AMOLEDs. Don't fall into blind AMOLED gang.

Xiaomi did a one hit wonder with the redmi 10x 5g with dimensity 820 in the midrange section then we are are stuck with inferior phones for the rest of year.

Totally agree with the writer. The 2Mp micro and depth camera are useless and a waste. Give me a 48Mp main and 8mp wide and 8mp zoom camera rear and 13mp front with nightshot

Well for sure to go with 10t lite in this comparison but then to take in account that mi 10t Lite is already half a year old and 9t 5G has just released so it's price is not yet balanced out and when it come to updates then what phone will have longer support if i would go out to buy one tomorrow. Probably both end at the same time as Redmi series seem to have only 18 months of software support. If Mi 10t Lite will have 24 months software support, then it already have had the 6 months and will have only 18 months more
I probably would go with the redmi note 9t just cause of the dimensity 800U to see how it works and as the mi 10T Lite dont have amoled screen then the 120Hz i dont even care for it. I dont do anything with the phone where the 120hz makes sense and for just browsing i dont need that hz for it. Never mind that it will probably eat more battery too

4gb ram plus miui skin just is too littleI agree. I just don't see the point of the Note 9T. They should've just waited and had the Dimensity 800U in the Note 10, but with 6GB RAM and an ultrawide camera.
The 10T Lite also has the 120hz display Vs only 60hz in the Note 9T. It is a fail as far as I am concerned
