Sold on Paper to dodge BAN,
But in reality, Honor run by Huawei top brass
Which is nice move, they should've done that earlier
That means ,the Chinese huawei is lying to the world that they have sold Honor to other company
Anonymous, 20 Jan 2021The truth is that Honor is not owned by Huawei anymore. I don't warp reality or live in f... moreOn paper it is not, but in reality, I don't think Huawei would really sell their sub brand. Look at the people running it before it was sold and after it was sold, its the same Huawei executives. Which is a good thing.
M, 20 Jan 2021Don't be fools. Huawei did not sell Honor to get rid of the the brand. They sold Honor so... moreTrue, Honor is still going to be handled by the executives of Huawei like George Zhao etc.
Don't be fools. Huawei did not sell Honor to get rid of the the brand. They sold Honor so they can keep doing what they are doing. It was clearly stated that Honor won't be changed in any way. All the people who were behind every Honor phone back when they were with Huawei, are still working on the current devices. Literally the only thing that has changed is the ownership on paper so they can negotiate getting back with Google etc. You can be sure, Huawei will follow soon. I expect the Biden administration to lift the ban.

Being owner of two Honor devices, I hope for the best.

I really like Honor. They are pretty good I would say. Emui was very optimised with Kirin but not sure how well they optimise magic ui with dimesnity
Anonymous, 20 Jan 2021Vivo is offering better cameras and value for the same price. Also Honor did with 30 series. ... moreMan they just came back. Give them some time. And it's your choice to buy it or not
So it means that we might se Honor V40 in India
AnonD-940827, 20 Jan 2021It's just like oppo and oneplus. Not really the same company, but still the same company.... moreNah, Oneplus is a supsidiary of Oppo. They shares are owned by Oppo. Huawei doesn't own any shares in Honor anymore. That's the whole purpose of the deal to avoid restrictions or otherwise the existing restrictions would still apply. Huawei may possibly still have a contract though with a buyback option in the future
Vivo is offering better cameras and value for the same price. Also Honor did with 30 series. Also Xiaomi do with Remi phones.
If they want to sell, Google Play Services will be not enough. Or they recover their previous value/money or they will flop and disapear. Another overpriced macro + depth sensors upcoming.

Try to study stocks a little bit.

I take it you didn't read the caption or the article.

Honor seems to be on the right track. Choosing the right chipset for the price range, getting GMS back & launching a competitive device. I predict they're gonna be fine under the new leadership.
Shellyman Infinity, 20 Jan 2021"ridiculous trade war"... Yeah, a person with a sack finally stands up against China... moreAs someone said, US companies were also exploiting the cheap labours there. Yes, they do provide employments but not like US companies didn't benefit from it. Also, if they kept manufacturing in US, they wouldn't have been able to compete if other countries manufacture it in China and then able to either provide just as good alternative for a cheaper price or gain huge profits in which they can use for R&D, not to mention the huge market share in China too.
Anonymous, 20 Jan 2021Haha, the draft dodging Trump has a sack, that's a good one. It's ridiculous to clai... moreYeah. It was a trade off, technology transfer for the market. Doesn't sound right but those companies accepted it so they can do business there. US can do the same to them and let China decide if they want the market or not.
What will be price for this mobile phone.
