KeyserSoze, 23 Jan 2021This article is fake news. My Note10+ has had this QR-code-wifi-share feature since I bought ... moreThe article literally mentions this exact thing if you would take the time to read it. The difference is, with Android 12 the QR code will no longer be needed to share the password with nearby devices.
This article is fake news. My Note10+ has had this QR-code-wifi-share feature since I bought it in 2019 with Android 10! You don't need Android 12 for this.
Why would anyone want to share password manually? I have NFC tag on my door, anyone that would be in, can just tap and it logs them in...
Well, apart Apple users, their device can't read it :D
Oh look, now Google copying what Apple has been doing for a few years now. Genius.
Anonymous, 20 Jan 2021What is the difference between QR and some other sort of share? It must be transmitted somehow... moreWell I can see that much of a quality of life using Android share over qr code for exemple, so I agree with you.
[deleted post]and here is the big advantage of android. anything ios, mi ui or one ui can do, android can do with third party apps
anyone remember when windows phone had this feature ages ago?
sa11oum, 21 Jan 2021*laughs in iOS*You laugh in the most basic O.S ; iOS ; you should cry . After 100 years ; now you have widgets on that basic iPhone screen. Also night mode was made by Google first.
Yuri84, 21 Jan 2021Can't you just send it over a messenger? Why do we need "next android version" ... moreConvenient.
Can't you just send it over a messenger? Why do we need "next android version" for that? It doesn't seem to require re-writing a lot of android code and could be added as a small feature to existing versions.

Anonymous, 20 Jan 2021Oh, definitely! Let's say, since 2017 (iOS 11)? :PYup, its already there since iOS 11 😁
What on earth for.
MIUI has had this since their devices have been on Android 6. MIUI version 8 or so. And it can be shared with any device. Just click on 'tap to share password'. Convenience apart, it's also secure. You can share wifi with your guests without actually having to spell out the password to them.
The reason I am done with the much loved stock Android.
Ola, 20 Jan 2021Samsung OneUI 2.5 already does this. And they still think Stock Android is better.
