Can please someone clarify if the Samsung S21 ultra UK model have the MST function on Samsung pay or not? Because when I called the Technical support of Samsung UK they said this model doesn't have it. No mst function only nfc. However someone wrote an article that UK supports it. I didn't test it since I don't own the phone yet but was considering it based on this information. If someone with real experience could clarify I would appreciate it. Thanks.
Anonymous, 21 Jan 2021With the implement of TNG , Boost and GrabPay. soon enough, all vendors will change their term... moreso if vendor use TNG Wallet or Boost then Samsung Pay that only support NFC can be use?
I have no justification to buy a more expensive phone now and I'll hold onto my Note 20 Ultra for as long as I can bc I bought Samsung phones mainly for this feature.
I have samsung j5 model mobile in which WhatsappA is not perform good work.

Until now with samsung.
Apple ditched mst long ago. Because they charge more for less. Samsung is new apple
This MST feature is make u unique than other smartphone..it also powerful feature...remove it mean other smartphone can use ur app with NFC..
Samsung Pay becoming more like Apple Pay and Google Pay. Stick to the older models then. Samsung trying to swindle more people by removing features like Motorola and Apple did removing headphone jack.

My last trip to Europe in 2019 I found only one place that accepted credit cards that didn't take NFC, a small hotel in Italy.
The U.S. still has a lot of small businesses that have not upgraded their credit card terminals.
One place where I paid with Samsung Pay didn't believe that I had actually paid. I had to pay a second time with a physical card and then dispute the Samsung Pay transaction.

Others choose not to accept Apple Pay or Google Pay for whatever reason, but Samsung Pay works fine.
Many credit cards in the U.S. have higher rewards for mobile-wallet payments so Samsung Pay is much appreciated when they don't take Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Samsung Pay with MST was popular enough that cashiers would often say, "we only take Samsung Pay" when they saw a customer holding their phone up to the payment terminal.
One huge health care system in the U.S. only took Samsung Pay for many years, but finally now accepts Apple Pay and Google Pay. They had to replace hundreds of terminals in each location. The pandemic spurred them to hurry things along.
Time to stock up on MST-equipped phones while they are still available.
Actually, I find MST less useful since Home Depot, Lowe's and Walmart now prevent its use. Some places that used to not take NFC payment with Google Pay or Apple Pay have begin accepting it, like Kaiser and many smaller ethnic supermarkets. I think that the pandemic has driven more and more stores to give in and take mobile wallet payments.
I still use MST at a couple of places, but I suspect that it's used very little.
The downside for Samsung is that MST was about the only reason to use Samsung Pay at all. It's less convenient than Apple Pay or Google Pay.
YUKI93, 21 Jan 2021Lol please, I also live in Malaysia and very little premises adopt NFC. A lot of premises are ... moreWith the implement of TNG , Boost and GrabPay. soon enough, all vendors will change their terminal to NFC supported device. So, chill, MST will be history. Samsung is doing a right job there.
I've used MST so extensively. This is a bummer. Here in the USA, it is still rare(only big stores have it) to see NFC payment points. It's all magnetic or chip only.
That's unfortunate... it's been a huge reason for me to stick with Samsung, as NFC seems to pretty much only work in large department stores here. I am constantly using Samsung Pay where the cashiers react with "oh no - we don't have mobile payments", and it's been fantastic. I will horribly miss it when I next have to replace my phone - I'm glad I have the 20 and can keep it a while.
Plenty of MST only payment locations in American midwest. I will miss it. I waited a long time to replace my S8, thinking I was getting a somewhat future proof best of whats new device. Guess not quite.
Well that's it for using Mobile pay. Most places I visit do not use anything But the MST. Walmart, Sams Club and Lowes have already stopped using Mobile Pay. Thank you Samsung for making things easier!

HEB, one of the nation's largest grocher, still does not support it. I use MST all the time here (San Antonio) because NFC, while adoption is getting better, has a long way to go. Hopefully by the time I upgrade my phone the situation will be better.

Now that the S21 series has engineers who were smoking crack leading the charge it looks like I'll have to dip into my covid savings and pay way more than I wanted to.
At least I know it's a rock solid device.
Personally I don’t care about no MST as for one in the last 5-6 years I haven’t come across any non nfc payment terminals, secondly samsung pay still isn’t available in my country as isn’t google pay, Apple pay on the other hand is
