And honestly world trade wouldn't exist without the US because each country would need a capable navy to guard their goods and wars are bound to break out over conflicts regarding trade routes.

They recently announced a multi-billions Euros project to build their own chips.
Every major country around the world is looking for ways to not depend on the US.
Go Samsung. Keep going. Just don't make too many plastic phones.

expansion is good for competition. but 3nm in 2023? I thought 3nm is to be released some time next year??
travis999, 23 Jan 2021No difference between huawei and Samsung, both do what their govs order them to do, just like ... moreYou're absolutely right, all companies have 0 manly balls and do what their govs order them to do... and where's the power / claim of leadership in that? ( for the companies )
But Apple and Samsung DO have good initial, root beginnings...
Steve started building stuff in his garage while Samsung did a lot more prior to entering the tech world in the 1950's...
What is running them both now is a whole different story though......
Anonymous, 23 Jan 2021so should intel be banned due to American military links? Well any country can ban Intel on security ground ... just make up a story.
However, most countries want cheap PCs[w/ MS Windows] to run their economy.
JohnNy L, 23 Jan 202110 Billion!! Is this a joke?mostly end up like failed FOXXCONN project
Is this a joke?
Add too a 60% increase in price in their future phones,
Also Samsung already said that more phones will come without accesories, including midrangers... So be ready also for the remove of features in those phones...
Welcome to the future of Samsung, the featureless most expensive phones you can buy... Be premium!!! Be the Android's Apple like fans beee e e e e e!!! beee e e e e e!!!!
And then charge a king's ransom for there over priced mobiles as it is, good luck with that one 😱
Interesting. This will make future Samsung phones cost 80% more lol. Well good luck selling them outside USA and Korea.
Anonymous, 23 Jan 2021Rip Intel.New Intel CEO said that he wanted to outsource some of their fabrication.
I see this move by Samsung as a way of getting Intel to give them 1st consideration.
Intel will still retain their non-consumer fabrication, i.e. defense.
travis999, 23 Jan 2021No difference between huawei and Samsung, both do what their govs order them to do, just like ... moreclear thoughts we said, there is Taiwan mafia and samsung macia which controls entire Korea.
No difference between huawei and Samsung, both do what their govs order them to do, just like apple, Nokia or any big Corp does, or else.
I wonder what the chance is of the new Biden gov actualy rememberinh it has anti-racketeering, corruption and mafia laws, that also cover foreign firms working in the USA, cos Samsung is precisely that, just a mafia family, with another top family member found guilty of multiple charges only in the last few days..
The semi conductor and electronics industrirs are some of the most immoral, un-ethical business's on the planet, Samsung a mafia, apple and Microsoft both started from theft/fraud, apple just a self stock manipulator, serial tax evader, along with all the rest of them, they employ as many accountants as they do for production... An "honest" major s-c or electronics firm ?
No, there isn't one...
ZolaIII, 23 Jan 2021Yes but this is GAA 3 nm and it will be vastly superior. GAA is not new, been since 1990s.
zodiacfml, 23 Jan 2021wtf? TSMC is already 3nm risk production. 3nm chips for Apple devices next year. Yes but this is GAA 3 nm and it will be vastly superior.
