Markets change if you haven't noticed yet and sedans are not everyone's top priority anymore. SUV's are. Maybe you aren't the sharpest tool...

Oh yeah sure.. definitely getting better by dropping a crown jewel💎

AJ, 12 Feb 2021It will be great if Apple picks Mitsubishi. Great quality and pricing but poor marketing. They are getting better though. Their ASX is quite popular and actually isn't bad at all. Looks good and comes with 2.0L engine as base model. Maybe it's not as economical, but there is no replacement for displacement hehe ;) I also like their new front styling. Looks quite nice. It's a shame they dropped Lancer which was their crown product for so long, but it's SUV all over the place these days so I understand why they follow the trend.

Nissan? WHAT happened to Kia and Hyundai??

:-)
Anyway, I just can't see Apple willing to dilute their brand with Nissan.
If this is the case, it seems Apple is desperate. Nissan is on a downward spiral.
Nissan...anything to help their rather unfortunate brand image I imagine. But as they have a reputation for early battery wearout on the Leaf, a partnership with Apple seems obvious. Leafs will simply slow down after a year.
Anonymous, 11 Feb 2021How many car companies are making the Apple car, lol.It is in the prototyping stage. Whoever makes the best functioning model will win

It's not like they are not getting paid for the job as per negotiated terms. Because ultimately, people generally don't care who made the parts. A lot of stuff in cars is made by Bosch. Invented by them even. Yet in the end, what everyone sees is the car brand badge on the car. It's the same with phones. Chipsets, vibration motors, speakers, batteries, displays etc, they are nearly always made by bunch of different vendors. It's just how it works. Even vendors who do majority of stuff themselves, like Samsung, have to eventually resort to buying 3rd party components because no one makes everything. Not even most self sustainable companies. I have no idea how "Apple car" will be accepted, because seeing a bitten apple logo on a car that's not a sticker on the trunk is just weird.

I support this alliance, Nissan needs help more than ever and Apple would be a great help.
Nissan is a great automaker full of potential not to mention GT-Rs and their new 400z looks sick asf
Weird thing is that Samsung make cars for some time with Renault co-op they quiet successful taking in to the account that they sell it in limited number in specific market without too much advertising.
It would be weird if Nissan, that also is working with Renault, would start doing parts for Apple.
It would be AGAIN typical Apple strategy: others make technology and work, we just advertise it as our....
