So much hate for Nokia here around, and at some point they deserve it, their historical attitude toward customers has never been satisfactory, long delays, lower figures of specs, never an 'all in one'' flagship, various restrictions, etc. But, in the other hand they have built a tradition, the life-lasting devices, all the Nokia phones I've had during years I have donated to others when buying newer models, noone of them has ever died or broken. New Lumias are the latest representatives of this excellent tradition with a piece of amazing innovative tech in them (of course could be better, it always can). As it regards the devices; the new Lumias are invincible, as it regards the software; most people may like them unless fanatics of Android, if you are so, go for a Sony XperiaT or a Motorola RazrHdmax, they are of much better build than SGS3 and SGNote2 and perform quite same. Cheers to everyone! There are choices for all, just need to like sth and have money.

I wanted to wade in... moreWP8 has been released for Developers a couple of months ago in June, and i think some of the people here are those freelance developers.
So saying WP8 is not released yet is not correct, and world is very close to see the consumer version of WP8 in a month and half time from now.
Lets wait and see.. who is better..
This isn't the official price. This is just a prediction that what the maximum price could have been. Let Nokia announce it officially.
WP8 beats android, 09 Sep 2012Oh yeah !! are you sure?!?
1) I don't work for microsoft
2) android is NOT !! a stable OS ... more> In reply to Anonymous @ 2012-09-08 21:04 from IV%v - click to read
I wanted to wade in here... Many of our points are simply incorrect generalisations...
1) I don't work for microsoft
Sponsored, perhaps?! ;)
2) android is NOT !! a stable OS ==> Windows is !!
Jellybean definitely is. You have no idea about WP8 because it hasn't been released yet.
3) WP8 will easily beat android in Multi-tasking
How do you know? WP8 hasn't been released yet...
4) WP8 doesn't have crappy things ( which shouldn't take 2 seconds to complete ) like " CROP " your wallpaper
Really? WP8 hasn't been released yet... And WP8 doesn't have wallpapers in the same way!
5) WP8 will allow you to organize your "album" and sort it the way you want compared to crappy android same goes to " Movies "
You can sort any way you like on Android...
6) WP8 will allow you to delete movies from your device while android forbids you !!
???? Of course you delete films / anything on Android
7) WP8 is more user friendly than android if Microsoft WP8 stays faithful to windows on PC
WP8 isn't released yet...
8) it won't take long till WP8 starts to eat android market share and scare the hell lot of google prying eyes who wants to kill your phone battery just to keep everything online for monitoring whether the owner wants it or not.
9) I hope Microsoft take these factors ( google weak points ) into consideration and the next day I will sell my Xperia S for a WP8 unless I can install WP8 on Xperia S
10) I forgot microsoft updates the OS more often than google ... so it won't take them eons to fix things until the next android release .... LOL .. google !! your killer is ON !!
Look at windows track record... Appalling...
Note: I dont work for microsoft

@Window Phone Fan.
Nope I am not a Sammy fan like you describe yourself as a WP fan. And yes I will buy the GNote2. Anywhere thanks for your reply. Cheers.
Anonymous, 08 Sep 2012Samsung GNote2 will eat this for breakfast when it comes to sales. yea...right :)))
Horrible pricing by Nokia...they should have reduced their profit margin and should have concentrated on sales-by-volume
I feel that Mobility has become the game of perception.
This is Device looks ultimate and hardware specs are good. It's time for Nokia to bounce back.
Good luck Nokia:) Cheers
AnonD-5465, 08 Sep 2012Why should nokia put a low price than the S3 ?? its better than the S3 in every aspect so it ... moreif I feel good with s3 and other people too, who are you to say such stupid comment!
I would like to try nokia 920 but I do not think I would leave android! I like camera features!
I will rather test Iphone 5 and 920 instead of people's reviews. They are all fake reviews to target human minds and boom market. Similarly Galaxy Note II is a large brick track. I will rather prefer the SIII.
its a great phone not a phone its a smartphone......................................nokia is the best
Anonymous, 08 Sep 2012Samsung GNote2 will eat this for breakfast when it comes to sales. the note and this are aimed at different audiences , people who want a 4-inch phone aren't going to want a 5.5 inch one and visa versa.
AnonD-5465, 08 Sep 2012Why should nokia put a low price than the S3 ?? its better than the S3 in every aspect so it ... moreThe camera is far better in the Lumia 920. RAM and battery are worse. SoC is identical. Connectivity is similar, with the S3 having an edge in bluetooth file transfers. The screen size and technology, the OS, the used materials or the design aren't better neither in the Lumia 920 nor the S3, it all comes to personal likes and needs.
To sum it up, it is not true that the Lumia is better than the S3 in every aspect. About pricing strategy, if Nokia doesn't compete with a low price, Android smartphones won't give them opportunity in such a competitive market. Because you know, Lumia 920 is NOT the new iPhone.
AnonD-56158, 09 Sep 2012the reason why nokia cannot give a definite release date could probably be because they still ... morethey aren`t fools to launch wp7 any more.they must ve got something up their sleeve-they simply can`t let their future-lumia overshadowed by iphone and other launches.i expect release dates and something more from nokia a bit after apple announce the dates for iphone 5.
AnonD-58527, 09 Sep 2012Only sales , yeah.
Like the Note 2 then?

I wanted an A15 dual core SoC with the Mali T-604. As for the higher pixel count, I already have a capable camera and even now I don't take 8 mpx photos because they're usually bulky.
And with the Note 2 they came up with pretty impressive software features, compensating the meh internals and screen (save for battery and RAM).
In the case of Nokia, a revamped hardware set for the Lumia line was not desirable but mandatory, if they didn't want to stop existing in the mobile world.
Lumia 920 is a good handset, but it falls short un call it impressive or innovative. So do the Note 2 and the S3, opposed to the advance proposed by the S2 and the original Note at launch.
I would still take a Note 2 over any Lumia yet announced, but that's maybe because I don't appreciate a lot the camera on my phone or smaller screens. None of both models is the best suited for everyone.

Perfect upgrade and using the Mali-400 for the third time (from S2) was great way to save Samsung money in license fees and the 8mp camera is more than enough. Samsung is awesome to us fans. Thank you for this.
Gald to pay top price for what we asked for as fans.
heard in private the fans are actually pissed off, wanted Mali-604 and a 12mp camera & dedicated camera button)
But I'm sure you're a good Samsung boy and will buy it.
