Just like the previous phones they had, and it helped quite a bit.
Tech nerd 333, 23 Feb 2021Good point. but still, though.I get it, have it your way. :)
It is mainly heat that damages batteries.
Even with protection not so convinced that it won't shorten the battery life.
Normal charger can already make phone hot.
PROXYhx, 23 Feb 2021How come? Not sure how but Oppo warned that fast charging degrades battery
AnonD-920712, 22 Feb 2021it charge so quick until it shorten its battery life. Fast also has consequences .That is why I'm not embracing super fast charging. The battery degradation will be faster when doing super-fast charging, especially when the phone has a bad battery optimization.

Imagine the heat coming from the phone battery. It would be a complete toast!
What I would love to see is the ability to dial down the charging rate with a toggle. I don't want to use 120W all the time, I only want to use it whenever necessary like when I'm out and about. When I'm at home or at the office desk, I want the charging rate to stay between 30W and 40W only.
I Think This will Make the battery lifer Shorter than another speed and power is not the best friend

Anonymous, 22 Feb 2021Nope true Wireless 5W charging that Xiaomi showed earlier is the futureI really hope the "5W" was a typo
AnonD-920712, 22 Feb 2021it charge so quick until it shorten its battery life.
Fast also has consequences .The battery will lose it's capacity and performance just like any other battery. It uses 2 cell battery technology to split the power between both of the cells, active cooling and passive cooling that prevent the battery from overheating. Many protections are taken to prevent all the things you told so they never happen.
120W is great for a quick charge for when you're in a pinch. The battery degrades like usual so nothing to complain about there. Also it doesn't use much electricity, it uses the same amount of power if not less thanks to the GaN charger it comes with and thanks to the lower power/heat waste that's replaced with active power instead of thermal losses.
It just does it faster, doesn't consume more power and it costs less than 5 cents to charge your phone.
Just like any other phone.

Anonymous, 22 Feb 2021Interesting, but wouldn't the ultra-fast charging shorten the battery life? It's using good technologies to keep the battery from overheating when charging. Also it's equipped with a dual cell battery so it splits the power between the 2 cells.
i use a mi 10 ultra (with equally fast charging)
I never charge overnight and usually plug it in while i eat breakfast and then it's full for the day.
should be a similar experience with this phone.
