Anonymous, 23 Feb 2021I'm not surprised to be honest. I was very intrigued at the LG Velvet, looks crazy nice (... moreThe Velvet is worth the money and I dare say a better phone than the Nord.

I hope LG keeps making phones, it's cool how they're actually innovating, like with the dual screen attachment, LG Wing, and now the Rollable.

What I'm waiting for is a dual screen phone, but built-in, not an attachment, and with a minimal gap between the screens so that it could almost feel like one large screen when unfolded. There already are edge to edge displays, so it shouldn't be a big problem to have two of them side by side.

denyfate, 23 Feb 2021i was a loyal LG fan since the LG shine.. buy ive been avoiding LG since the LG G4.. that phon... morelg g4 was my first lg phone, though i was already checking them out since L3 L5 L7...
i also thought mine was bootlooped... i mean it was, but it was not because of the usual "soc" thing... i risk to buy a third party battery, and ye it works... so it was the battery fault in my case...
i bought v50s with its dual screen last year for the sake of productivity, it does not disappoint me... and i am impressed with its audio quality though i have very few flac files... it is true that it has better audio quality on wire than my z5 premium...
even when i want to suggest this to my friends, lg no longer have stores for smartphones here...

Stop wasting all the resources on expensive R&D and concentrate on your sales of existing portfolio, sack all the useless LG marketing team and replace with a sales focus team.
LG marketing is just hopeless....I had been trying to buy a dual screen for 6 months, since LG V60 released last year (it was limited release worldwide only mainly in North America and small part in Asia like Taiwan only, not even, Europe, HK or Australia and LG refused to sell it with a Dual Sim option with a global model, with next to no extra cost to them just software adjustments to sell in world wide markets. Talking about being silly and wondering why no sales growth and massive R&D expenditures to push out Wings and Rollables??
And when they did release the Velvet (not V60) in Aust; they did not even sell Dual Screen option; given that was the biggest selling point; without it, Velvet is just an overpriced midrange phone, better off buying Nord or Pixel 4a-5G ) and even if you import DS overseas yourself, it is Not compatible.... LG go figure how you expect sales improvements when you only choose to sell in such a limited market, mainly US only?

They should just sell it. LG phone are too great to be shut down.

A lil bit of re-arranging on business model could make LG to the top again, and I think Vin Group can do it.

I just hope it wont be sold off to chinese shts

I'm not surprised to be honest. I was very intrigued at the LG Velvet, looks crazy nice (aside from the notch but what can you do).
But then they go and put a midrange chip in it and a mid range display but still ask quite a bit for it.
The G8 ThinQ from 2019 is better than the V60 from 2020 (except for the chip).

Time to say Good bye LG, I am proud you made a fight (except on software side). I may have to look for other companies for my future smartphones..

"The division has been losing money since Q2 of 2015 and racked up $4.5 billion in total loses to date."
This sentence says it all. It took almost 7 years for LG to realise that things need a Huge Overhaul. They should have downsized the smartphone division ro 1/4th, reduced top management's salaries by atleast 30%, and created the largest customer feedback database in the smartphone world, to figure out what is wrong and how to correct it. LG is behaving the Nokia dinosaur, and they are solely responsible for the mess they are in. They need to start an Overhaul RIGHT NOW.

Dani2018, 22 Feb 2021Of course no success for lg phones . Because of the lack of marketing and availability. I myself have to import my V50 with its DualScreen case to Malaysia all the way from the USA. That's not a good sign if you ask me.

joe nodden, 23 Feb 2021Well obviously. Why would LG do anything good in the smartphone market? This isn't 2017. Lol please, I don't see any point in buying a four-figure flagship smartphone when LG can offer a much better premium experience with better features for way less than the $1000 price bracket.

Even if LG did make the rollable phone for real, I don't think most people would be daring enough to buy it, and that's coming from an LG guy like myself. At this point, what LG really should do is focus on selling its phones in more countries. LG should know that there are actually a lot of potential buyers out there who actually loves their offering. Even my friend who is a long-time Apple user has looked at the V60 with the DualScreen case and actually wants one for real. It's just a crying shame that you can only officially buy it in very few countries.
