yes, iphone 5 will sell for sure. why wont it? a lot of people subscribed to itunes. they wont waste the stuffs they bought. these people have no choice but to buy iphone 5 then iphone 6, then so on.
iphone is the bait, itunes is leash. no way out.
Alui, 15 Sep 2012I think iPhone will have record sales.
1. If you already have an iPhone, switchi... moreYour point is absolutely correct but same thing applies to Android user. Why do I Android user like to go in the jail of iOS? Not only me but most won't leave Android. I don't like using itunes for content transfer. Android devices are plug and play.
For me Apple is always NO NO NO.
friend at work phoned vodafone uk 14-09-12 at 10:30am to preorder his i5 which presales started at 8:00am so he was worried being 2nhalf hours had passed they already be sold out there quoter for next fridays launch to be told his one of the first on the list for preorders.
So looks bit slow on sales.. maybe apple gonna learn lesson for not putting blow away new tech in i5 and for making it looks to similar to i4...
New sony phone got tap against syncing dock tech and new Nokia got charging plate tech instead of plugging cables in.. Come on apple wake up stop taking us for mugs using your name as the seller instead of advanced leading tech .. Faster processor n 3d maps wop wop were so lucky.
Alui, 15 Sep 2012I think iPhone will have record sales. Here's why: 1. If you already have an iPhone, switchi... moreReally? is widgets the only avantage android has over ios. What about the fact it is open platform, you dont need itunes to for everything, bluetooth/usb file transfers, more free apps to name but a few. Then with the sgs3 you have a mjuch bigger battery, bigger screen which i prefer, removeable battery again which i prefer as if the phone freezes or something which my s3 hasn't done but my xperia s and htc one s did and had to take them back to the shop as they wouldnt turn on. Also IOS is still behind android imo i mean its only now they are receiving things like call rejection messages.
Alui, 15 Sep 2012I posted the previous comment from my SGS 3 and it appears twice. I send this one from my Asus... moreWhat was I saying? :) The browser on my TF Prime switches off for no reasons. Honest! It's too much for me! I'm buying only Apple from now on!!!

1. If you already have an iPhone, switching to another OS you lose all the money spent on apps so far. And on top of that, if you go for a WP phone it's very possible that your WP 8 phone will not be compatible with WP 9 OS. In fact if you are now on WP 7 you are in fact encouraged to move to another OS. For some people will be the second time when they lost all the previous purchased apps on Windows phones (WM 6.5, WP 7, WP8) due to OS incompatibility. The options are Android and iPhone 5.
2. The only serious contender is SGS 3. But with it, you have some problems too. Samsung has to provide the OS updates not Google. The Jellybean will arrive on SGS 3 later than iOS 6 on all Apple products, for example. For later versions probably you'll have to go to XDA, but that's not for everyone. Also SGS 3 is too big for some people and it's not so good looking as the iPhone 5. In addition, Android user experience is still below the iOS user experience. Moreover, the Android was running Flash, not anymore starting with JB, and then the only Android advantage will be the widgets, but it will not be a reason good enough to switch from iOS.
iPhone 5 has more advance and faster processor than Galaxy S3, it is known as A6, system on a chip.
Basically A6 was developed by Apple and it consists of QUAD CORE ARM Cortex A9 processor.
Apple's "Boring" and "Disappointing" iPhone 5 sold out. Who is having the last laugh?
jeweller, 15 Sep 2012NFC is useless in my country. wireless charging is also a joke; you can't really use your phon... moreIt doesn't have a Cortex A15 CPU. Don't make false comment. Show me the link where it says it has from a reputed site.
Anonymous, 15 Sep 2012iPhone 5 is at least a generation behind the Lumia 920 in hardware. No doubt about that.
Lu... moreNFC is useless in my country. wireless charging is also a joke; you can't really use your phone when it's charging, and you still need a wire to connect the induction plate to wall socket, and the phone needs to be "connected" to the plate, even if it connects wirelessly.
Nokia may just have a small advantage in display, but it's really small. i mean, Apple improves from 4S' display, wich was already superb.
Nokia propably also has a bit better camera too, but it's not like 4S had a BAD camera either. some improvements in iPhone 5 on this department also.
BUT, iPhone 5 is more powerful. it supposedly has two Cortex-A15 cores (first in the world) running in it, and all this in under 8mm glass/aluminum covers.
and the main advantage? iOS. even Android's third-party software support is not as good, wich is actually the reason i'm switching from Android.
i'm ready to reconsider WP after (or IF) it get's some major support from devs. it already has something like 100 000 apps in market place, but oh what a load of crap the most of it is... for example, i like to have my Autodesk apps (AutoCAD and Inventor Publisher) on my phone. so for now, it's iPhone for me.
iPhone 5 is at least a generation behind the Lumia 920 in hardware. No doubt about that.
Lumia 920 is the first device to use an advanced touchscreen from Synaptics that works with gloves, keys, fingernails, etc..PureView camera with optical image stabilization, where as iPhone has software image stabilization. It also has NFC and wireless charging. The PureMotion HD+ IPS screen on the Lumia is said to be the brightest (600 nits or 25% brighter), the fastest screen (60Hz refresh rate or 2.5X faster), best for viewing outdoor, and really dark black with Clearblack polarizer layer technology. HAAC Rich Recording with 3 distortion-free high amplitude microphones. Dolby Digital Plus headphone enhancement.
Apple should have maintained the thickness of iPhone 5 similar to that of iPhone 4S. Instead of reducing the thickness, they should have increased the battery size because 8 hrs backup would force you to keep one backup phone having longer battery life. These days the challenge is to increase screen size, enhance resolution and at the same time increase battery backup. This time Apple failed on all the fronts. I was curiously waiting for iPhone 5 launch because I somehow had feelings that to some extent it has got inputs of late Steve Jobs. Now nothing more innovative can be expected from Apple in its furture products. It might be just routine upgrades i.e. it can be anticipated that downfall of Apple has now begun.
AnonD-59657, 15 Sep 2012iPhone 5 is the greatest invention by Apple in the history of mankind!
It makes other best... moreOh.. Adding LTE is invention, 4'' screen is invention, FB integration is invention, 7.6 mm thickness is invention, adding panorama is invention, adding dual band wifi is invention. Oh Apple you are almighty Lord.
