So they made a simple process more complicated without giving an alternative to set a default if this added feature isn’t necessary for you…this is dumb. It’s alike like how Walmart requires you to to make 2-3 extra tapes on the screen after you pay. Something’s need to be left a lone and I bet less than 5% of users will choose more than 2 so I find it pointless to make the rest suffer for the 5 percent. No longer using Siri for music!

I find the iOS widgets to be a bit lacking, and they look like....well, bigger icons. To each his own.

Same old hideous notch, same old hideous grid of icons on the homescreen... looks extremely inelegant and low class. Even Apple themselves are highly ashamed of that notch.
That's why they keep showing pictures of their iphones with wallpapers that black out the top of the screen to hide the ugly putrid notch that makes the phone's bezel look grossly asymmetrical. Such incompetent amateurs!

Android widgets are biliion times polished than ToyOS.
Trix... Everyone knows u an iTroll.
[deleted post]What the h*ll man :D calm down! :D What anything what you said have to do with the fact that iOS widgets are already lot more popular than Android widgets ever been because iOS widgets are more user friendly and more polished and just look lot better=people actually want to use them.

Android have had widgets for ages and barely no-one use them. Widgets with Android have never been a thing, except the clock and weather and Google search widgets, i dont remember anyone using Any other.
IOS widgets are already very popular and more popular than Android widgets never been.

"Winning the widget war
Apple has also done a better job with iOS widgets. Android has had widgets on the home screen for as long as the iPhone has had a Lightning port, but very few of them are worth using, outside of the Google search bar and basic weather conditions. Third-party widgets are, to put it mildly, mostly garbage, and Google hasn’t done anything to advance the platform aside from a few Pixel-first widgets that are installed by default.
But widgets in iOS 14 really do look good. They have a unified design that will extend to third-party apps. The sizes perfectly align with each other and the icon grid. They look like a natural part of the home screen. Most importantly, they accomplish their main task: to provide at-a-glance information that cuts down on the need to launch apps.
It’s the same old story: Android gets there first, but Apple gets it right. I can’t remember the last time I added a widget to my Android home screen. Unless it comes with the phone, like One UI’s weather widget or the Pixel’s search bar, they don’t add enough to the experience to bother. When I download iOS 14, however, one of the first things I’ll do is check out the app gallery and install a few of them."

Lower tier widget experience compared to Android. IOS can't handle high level widgets, the OS is extremely handicapped to get any real customization ability.
[deleted post]You still here? Why didn't you leave Android hater?
The day you leave this site, things can return back to normal.
Cyan111111, 05 Mar 2021But the implementation is far better than androids... Even the upcoming android 12 is going to... moreThe only widget I use or ever used on my Android phones was clock and weather widget. On my previous iphone, I deleted all together the widget section in the phone (I just leave it blank with no widgets).
I do enjoy Themes on my Android phones (that is why I like Samsung and Xiaomi phones in particular, they have great themes). But, the themes are making the phone a little more laggy (especially in the budget category phones). But still, if you have a good enough phone, the themes idea is actually good. And better than widgets, if you really want to customize your phone.
[deleted post]With few exceptions, I don't think iphone users were really on this site to begin with.
Mainly because this site is Android focused site. Even the Apple posts are somehow negative or sarcastic towards Apple, when you read them.
To be honest, I don't think iphone users really care about others opinions. At least, this is what I saw. They just go and buy iphones, no matter what others say.
Depending on how you look at it, it could be good or bad. For me is something in between.
But I appreciate and understand both sides. Because I was on both sides. And probably will be on both sides in the future too.
Anonymous, 05 Mar 2021Widgets don't even offer even 10% of the widgets on Android. But the implementation is far better than androids... Even the upcoming android 12 is going to copy it.

3. Essential Phone
4. Apple iPhone 7
5. Apple iPhone SE
6. LG Nexus
7. Xiaomi Mi 3
iOS14 was a good update for the 7. I'm enjoying viewing the widgets when swiping to the left screen. And the app library works as a drawer. Less clutter on the homescreen. Planning to get the 13 mini. Then be done buying another iPhone for the rest of the decade.
10 years later, they still can set 3rd party music apps as default.... Lol and they say iOS is easy to use.
