YUKI93, 06 Mar 2021700 Series chipset always have a lower-grade CPU microarchitecture and GPU type compared to th... moreLower tier GPU is right, as well as different ISP performance, but CPU is certainly very similar to the ones found in the 8xx series, especially since they're the same exact modified Cortex A7x cores in the name of Kryo. The difference is that there is less performance cores of them in favor of having more low power A55 cores, as well as much lower clockspeeds, which is what gives them the lower level of performance, albeit having better efficiency instead.
Also, support for a single 192MP camera is no longer a flagship-exclusive feature in the Snapdragon lineups. The SD765G can already support it: https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon-765g-5g-mobile-platform
Heck, even the SD710 has it too: https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon-710-mobile-platform

sixtymes, 06 Mar 2021if they offer the 870 why even have a 775, they'll be so close in performance. 700 Series chipset always have a lower-grade CPU microarchitecture and GPU type compared to the 800 Series. Also, the ISP aren't the same between the two. The 800 Series allows a single 192MP camera sensor, the 700 Series can't.
wbpwns, 06 Mar 2021Sd870 is the new premium midrange not sd775No it isn't. The 870 will forever remain a flagship-tier chipset. Remember that the 870 is essentially an over-clocked 865+ of which it is basically an overclocked 865, and the 865 itself is a flagship-tier chipset in the first place.
hmm, 06 Mar 2021So basically they just rebrand the older flagship chips with some little tweaks to middle clas... moreOne reason for this is in terms of efficiency. Old flagship chips are surely about as powerful as these mid range SoCs, but their power consumption would be significantly higher due to older fabrication process. Moreover, they employ the same powerful Cortex A7x core as the ones found on their flagship counterparts, albeit clocked much lower to achieve less performance, but that actually helps improve efficiency, which is arguably more important to the vast majority of consumers than some few horsepower that they most likely won't utilize in daily usage, just like most iPhone users who only use basic social media apps would leave the performance cores of their phones unused.
This is one of the reasons why mid rangers typically have longer lasting battery despite using the same battery capacity as the flagships.
hmm, 06 Mar 2021So basically they just rebrand the older flagship chips with some little tweaks to middle clas... moreOlder flagship chips? Dude, this one has 5nm and only SD 888 use it. Since when older flagship chip like the 865/865+/870 and 855/855+ use 5nm?
hmm, 06 Mar 2021So basically they just rebrand the older flagship chips with some little tweaks to middle clas... moreTo be fair, that's exactly what Samsung are doing with some of their old Exynos chips!
Older flagship chips will be less efficient, certainly than this one on the latest process will be (the F/M62 brute forces its way past that problem with a 7Ah battery).
So basically they just rebrand the older flagship chips with some little tweaks to middle class chips. Why not just make middle class phones with the SD845/855/855+/865
these flagship chips pretty much are gone as soon as new chip come out and they are never used in anything again.

They are a business remember that
Hmmm... let's wait and see how this new 775/788 chipset performs in the real world. Even the LG Velvet 5G with 765G chipset running Dekstop Mode can still perform wonders without any problem, so I should be seeing a noticeable performance upgrade with the new 5nm fabrication.
The Android Freak, 06 Mar 2021Expect Redmi K50 with this chipset. I hope they will upgrade K50 with the successor of 870, I don't want to see a mid-range chipset on a K series phone anymore.
What about the h264 h265 jpeg and Heif max sustainable data rate is more important. Max bit depth and pi el format in each mode matters. I'd much rather 12-14 bit photos in 4:2:2-4:4:4 than 10 bit photos.
I don't know how reliable is that account.
They are claiming that xiaomi mi 11 lite will come with this chip even though we already got that leak from google that it will come with sd765...
