this is typical carphone sales banter, nothing to do with how it is selling or not (as the case may be), carphone and O2 have overstocked and Steve Jobs has pulled a flanker leaving the O2/Carphone partnership with a surplus which must be shifted before they can get the new one's in, jobs won't give them out otherwise...
Simple... Contracts, Contracts and more Contracts......
Not just us that are stuck in them :)
i purchased the iPhone before the price reduction... like the day before... and i was give £100 in vouchers from carphone warehouse because of this!
I work for O2 and The reason for the price drop is NOT because it is not selling - the iPhone is the fastest selling handset in history (fact). The reason for the drop is simply because the mobile phone martket is a fast moving market. Much faster than computers.
And to the guy who said that phones in the UK are free. They are not free at all. The cost of the handset is covered in the cost of the contract. If phones were actually 'free', and you were just paying for the tariff, you would have alot more minutes and texts.
Also this price drop is only until June 1st. Reason for this is because there will be a 32gb 3G model released on this date, which is rumoured to have a camera improvement along with video recording function also.
company apple to be become intelligent very and good ,software special for iphone ,bill gates ,scientist very intelligent,
shall this news be showned on priority basis on this forum ?
Come on gsmarena .
Well a big reason of price cut coz 3G iPhone coming in June so becareful
Dont be so sure, with some handsets now worth so much the bubble is slowly bursting on free upgrades for all!
sorry i retract my comment about scratch proof glass, read the specs a little closer and wow it does have scratch proof glass 1 point to iphone still another 100 to sony and nokia. and anyways why doesnt apple make different style fones like flip, slide, why would u stick to one piece of crap, thats rite apple just makes one fone and the whole world goes goo goo gaa gaa, variety ppl. makes something better or go away
The Iphone is a good phone, but you have to remember when you go into the Carphone Warehouse and buy it you dont have to sign up to a contract! you can take it home use ZiPhone and use whatever network you want!
I was however one of the many people who bought the phone on the day of release for the 269 price and wont get anything back but who cares I've used more than £100 worth of browsing since then anyway.
this phone is so yesterday.
The only thing new about it is the price cut.
Sure it has a great interface but that's where it ends.
A winning formula would be stacking more features and an open source code that would allow installation of third party apps without the use of iTunes.
Steve Jobs, what happened to capitalism?
100 credits are for the last 14days not 30. the credits will be applied to the cust account via bill credit
i agree, being first is like pulling a fat girl, the victory is still there, but its small, pointless and u feel like a bit of u died afterwards.
anyways, the price cut. i think that it isnt selling well over here as it is with our american counterparts. i reckon that this is cuz the n95 8gb and se k850i are far superior and ppl over here recognise that.
plus nokia are realeasing their touch screen soon, so they are probably trying to compete a bit more, as the touch screen is becoming a big thing with phones, no longer a rariety.
i dont like the i phone anyway
sssh .... nobody cares, so few comment here. Apple selling too few iphones that's why the price drop, u'll never see Steve droping prices of other products within an year of realease. Tell me I'm wrong.
to the guy above, happy to be 1st? get a life.
i owned many phones but apple is the best phone i every held. but they must work out the blue tooth and the camera issues.
For goodness sake, we dont pay for phones in the uk. Cause they are free. Make the phone free or it still wont sell. It shouldnt b a price drop. It should now become free on selected price plans like all other pay monthly phones in the uk. Whats so had about doing that.
