No doubt a beautiful phone... Unfortunately, mine suffered a bloated battery death.
Alex, 29 Mar 2021I'm sorry but this article is wrong, this is the Mi mix 2 that is shown on the pictures. ... moreAre u OK?
As the proud owner of the 18k version of this phone I can tell you, that is the first mix.
I skipped the mix 2 as I always thought it was ugly, and I bought the mix 3, that although I love it as a phone, it made me give up on the company. Forgetting the line that should push the company forward with Bad updates and, stuck in outdated android versions and poor quality pictures, just sent me back to Samsung.
Typing now from my fold z 2
I'm typing this from a Mi Mix 1 bought almost at launch.
I love this phone, the ceramic allowed me to use it without any case and has so few scratches that you have to search for them in order to see any.
The earpiece changes the tone of the voices but its more than good to have perfectly clear conversations, and the selfie camera at the bottom is no issue, you can just flip the phone.
Design wise I did not find a Phone as elegant and simple as this one, not even its successors.
I had to change the battery once for obvious reasons, but i don't have plans to replace the phone.

I had the Xiaomi mi mix, loved it, regretted swapping for Samsung note 9, now I have Samsung note 20 ultra which I'm happy with, love big phones but also love using the s pen
So what happened today March 29 was supposed to be the big reveal date of this mythical teased mi mix 4 and all we saw were mi 11 variants. No laptop either..not that I was interested in it. Basically lot of hype about big product revelations-unless the reports are not complete from the event (Xiaomi had the warned that the event would be long)
Alex, 29 Mar 2021I'm sorry but this article is wrong, this is the Mi mix 2 that is shown on the pictures. ... moreNo it is the mi mix 1 (mix 2 was much smaller and narrower) mix 1 did have a chin (as did the mix mix2/2s) but a bigger one at that. The other edges had small almost non-existent bezels.
I'm sorry but this article is wrong, this is the Mi mix 2 that is shown on the pictures.
The mi mix 1 was released a few month prior to this one and was the original xiami's bezel-less phone
very ambitious, almost bought it. this was also the time i noticed i don't do much voice calls anymore. wish someone release 16:9 phone again regardless if poor at one hand use. the tall/longer aspect ratios today has little value.

But their phones have always been an acquired ... moreNah its like Samsung S5 but with little bit screen over the button and camera just think like that notch on over 16:9 wont do much but on R Compact which has 16:9 its annoying...
thanks mi mix for leading the trend of big chin and thin top bezel phone :) we haunted by it until today
I owned the 1st gen Mi Mix. I loved the form factor (wide enough to read any content or watching youtube). It had a lot of features you still can not find on other phones. Although a bit buggy, it had a stunning look! Nowadays, phones look like candy bars (long and narrow).
IpsDisplay, 29 Mar 2021Yes sharp made it first But unfortunately most of sharps display innovation gets no credit... moreSharp problem is that it makes for Japan only or something and dont expand there business in global scale. There for a lot of nice things they have done have not got anywhere
marbles, 28 Mar 2021Sharp Aquos did it firstIf you would only read the article and not only comments you would know it was mentioned in the article
"Xiaomi made jaws drop with its near bezel-less design" then along came Samsung with the first EVER Zero Bezel.
"the phone was 81.9 mm wide, which is way too wide to hold comfortably"
To me, that sounds awesome! All the modern phones are too narrow for me, I wish wider phones were still available. Right now, there are soooo many different phones on the market, and every single one of them is narrow and long. I wish the Mi Max series came back.
Anonymous, 29 Mar 2021Device was clearly a copy, but you did not feel it was copy, but something new?
LOL ... The only design similarity between this an Aquos Crystal was that they both had very slim top and side bezels accompanied by a chunky bottom chin, and maybe a speaker-less earpiece system. Literally everything else was different and yet you dare to dismiss it as a simple "copy"? Lol OK.
"Inspired" is the correct word for it if you want to give Sharp any credit for its design.
