Darius89, 12 May 2021Biden opened way for xiaomi to sell its phones in usa and spy over american usersSure, because OnePlus, Vivo, Oppo didn't, hopefully the NSA isn't stealing a lot of data from all the back doors they have in almost every American app.
benjieloria01x, 12 May 2021Oh yeah I am actually aware of Android phones in China having their own Application Store prov... moreSoon or later all chinese smartpohne brands will have their own OS
Xaoimi by far is the best device I have owned. It's very google friendly, and extremely fast. I like what the other readers said. It does feel like a move to keep google as top shelf, which I don't understand because the phone as I said is very google friendly
Aierlan, 12 May 2021What do you mean. They were never taken awayThey were on some phones. Some phones were degoogled like Huawei. Redmi k30 ultra and mi 10 hi ultra. But the services can be sideloaded.
[deleted post]F#ck off with your conspiracy theories and get off this platform, even if mobile phone towers and mobile phones were hacked, they could never kill. Radio masts can't emit frequencies on the EM spectrum high enough to kill, as is in the name, RADIO WAVES. In fact, radio waves get safer at higher frequencies. Sure if you stood next to a radio transmitter that was high powered enough you could physically burn and cook, but radio waves can't actually kill, as they are non-ionisong radiation
Is it just me or lots of people here just commenting without even reading the article? The blacklisting isn't even related to banning Xiaomi products. It was a ban on US-based Investors from investing to Xiaomi.
*Tips tinfoil hat* This is just one of the US own tactic, if they can't directly compete with actual product innovation/practicality, they'd cripple the resources just to maintain monopoly and prevent the competition from advancing, in this case it was financial resource that has been crippled.

What I am suggesting is actually an unified application store and proprietary applications in replacement to GMS, rather than having separate app stores, they should just unify it. Then they preload it to their future Android phones to slowly get away from Google ecosystem 😂
sangromero93, 12 May 2021Now give google apps services to xiaomi back!!!!GMS was never removed from recent Xiaomi phones even after it was blacklisted.
If you are using a Chinese Variant of a Xiaomi phone, then it really doesn't ship with GMS.
benjieloria01x, 12 May 2021I doubt that "ALL" Chinese Manufacturers will use Harmony OS if US blocking continue... moreNo, in China, every phone vendor has its own Appstore. It's only in West where there is one monopoly Google Playstore. Preferably all apps can be distributed in various app stores.
SpiritWolf, 12 May 2021Probably Google lobby work. If all China manufacturers switch to Harmony OS, it will be SERIOU... moreI doubt that "ALL" Chinese Manufacturers will use Harmony OS if US blocking continues. Instead, they might just create a partnership to create a single unified application store that works between Harmony, MIUI, Color, Oxygen, and even AOSP, etc...
AOSP is open source. The only problem here is GMS, because almost all Android phones are relying or shipped with GMS.
Now gimme Mi Note 11 Lite
even if xiaomi is not blacklisted, but the brand name is just too chinese, people would avoid it, probably a brand name like OnePlus has a better chance, plus it's consistant to only a few models
sangromero93, 12 May 2021Now give google apps services to xiaomi back!!!!What do you mean. They were never taken away
I cant hold myself but rofl reading the comments.
Fellas if you haven't noticed biden is not reading your questions. 😅
Probably Google lobby work. If all China manufacturers switch to Harmony OS, it will be SERIOUS blow to Spygle.
Now give google apps services to xiaomi back!!!!
It's a no-brainer scheme, that's exactly what I wrote when Xaomi was banned:
Trump just did Biden a favor of raising the bribe stakes.

MagicMonkeyBoy, 12 May 2021China is not all bad... They make some great stuff... Mi11 ultra... Now that is a flagship....... moreI've used some Mi flagship phones and I have to say Xiaomi can never make a good flagship phone. There are always software issues or display issues or durability issues.
Now Oppo....that's a Chinese company that knows to make a truly premium flagship phone (Huawei too, before the ban).
But are they off of Raymond Reddington's black list?
"But comrade Redington, aren't they part of our ally, fighting for the grand communist experiment"..."Well, frankly Ivan, I don't like the way they eat caviar, it's disgusting, and they could have done more to antagonize Trump. No, I insist they remain, because they did not do enough, and I just hate it when people don't eat their caviar properly. They could get a straw at least".
