I still dont understand why Samsung do both Android and wp8 but Nokia cant do both os?!
Aparadectos, 19 Oct 2012Of course Nokia has these strong points and more, they were leading the global market for thes... morewhat is this ranting all about.... Even after all that did not answer what Nokia engineer asked you.... And one request please be specific and to the point and short
technophile4dw, 19 Oct 2012"specs/price ratio is the ultimate criteria and not where their strong point as a company... moreOf course Nokia has these strong points and more, they were leading the global market for these reasons.
It doesnt mean that these reasons are for the benefit of their clients though. (thats why they were fallen apart once this became obvious)
Ex for for some, marketing, hype and patents means nothing. On the contrary, they lose respect on the company that relies on those tactics to thrive instead of building a better device, more worthy of its price tag.
Considering they are competing in the same OS enviroment, the comparisons are far more direct/intimate and hype/marketing plays a smaller role.
Nokia could not make the difference as before, solely relying on hype, marketing, and corporal agreemeants,
as they have been doing all along.
If their products were offering exactly the same features (considering that the open OS provides the same for all), with the competition,
the most important/decisive factor would be the specs/price ratio.
And as the competition is so high, they should be competitive in that sector, which was never their strong point and as history has already proved, they where months/years behind competition in touchscreens/smartphones market...
So the only actual choice to preserve their prestige and the hyped up image, was not to fight a war that cant win and fight one they can.
In the Windows OS, with that exclusive deal, they maintain the upper hand, even if they cant compete in the specs war, as MS will get sure that its OS is optimally run by Nokias and will impose specs restriction that could overthrow that balance.
I am sure that Nokia ppl were not stupid enough to think that Windows could compete with Android, but this was the only option to save their prestige and avoid direct competition.
Even now, with all those limitations the Windows platform has, many of their die hard fans, have found a way to convince themselves, that this alternative can be better and since there is no direct way to make a comparison, they can stay deluded, as they so wish.
At least this way, Nokia gets to keep some of their most fanatic fans and this demonstrates how right they were to avoid direct competition.
If they were competing in the Android market, with their current or earlier line up (spec wise) and the prices they had/have, they would lose even more market share and most important, hard earned brand prestige.
technophile4dw, 19 Oct 2012"specs/price ratio is the ultimate criteria and not where their strong point as a company... moreWhat a defective fellow are you?
The only one who uses cheap outdated hardware is Nokia
So stop humiliating yourself more
Nokia do not do anything other than combine others' hardware
1-LCD Amoled = Samsung
2-Internal Flash = Samsung
3-RAM = Samsung
4-Body = Made from cheap soda cans "Aluminum"
5-Camera lens = carl zeiss
6-Camera Sensor = Sharp
7-CPU/GPU = Qualcomm
8-3G/4G radio = Ericsson
While Samsung make all these by themselves even the Camera Sensor Now
And i read you said Samsung make cheap CPU which proves how lame troller are you, Because Exynos is in the top even beats A6x Apple and Krait Quadcore A15
i have used iphone / windows phone and currently SGS3.
And this is all i know:
Windows phone : smoothest of all. no freedom and less applications
Iphone: Very smooth, excellent choice of apps and games, niche value, no freedom
Android: laggy at times , not smooth as others but COMPLETE FREEDOM. ( i can connect with any PC, Any mobile )
choice is yours
Aparadectos, 19 Oct 2012Nokia, has ALWAYS charged more for less.
They were competing as long as they were controlling... more"specs/price ratio is the ultimate criteria and not where their strong point as a company always was (marketing, patent control, press hype, corporal agreemeants, soft development, multinational dealings etc)"
So you admit that Nokia had so many strong points( especially soft development and patent control- you don't get so many patents without innovating) while all the Android manufacturers have only one strong point- Cheap hardware. No Thanks!!
Aparadectos, 19 Oct 2012Nokia, has ALWAYS charged more for less. They were competing as long as they were controlling... moreWhat on earth are you talking about? iOS and Android started to kill Nokia, not Asian OEMs. Where would Samsung or HTC be without Android? With Bada and Windows Mobile. Give credit where credit is due. It wasn't until American companies (Apple and Google) got serious about mobile that Nokia started to go down.
Aparadectos, 19 Oct 2012Nokia, has ALWAYS charged more for less. They were competing as long as they were controlling... moreStop repeating ASIAN phone companies did this and that (I am Indian so Asian myself). Also, don't put samdung and NEC in the same category for innovation. NEC was and is innovative while samsung is only a copycat. they cant produce a dumbfone os let alone a smartphone os. they can only piggy back on copied innovation( Android ) and sell their cheap processors and ram to make you think that they are innovative. how is adding more cores and more ram innovation. also the chip architecture is done by ARM and not samsung. Also all Nokia haters are the ones who at some point of time in the past just could not afford to buy their phones( while they were the best in pre iphone days). Also All these so called well ishers of nokia advising them to use Android are the people stuck with laggy samdungs and HTCs and think that if Nokia starts making Android then they will get a good hardware and Nokia will fix all the problems in Android (lag, malware, battery killer, etc.) but sorry to dissapoint you. Not going to happen! Android can't be fixed. Also all advocates of open source are the cheapos who can't pay for apps and hide their cheapness behind such principles as open source BS. now go on check on your lagdroid. maybe it needs to be charged again.
why can't nokia just launch the product quickly like other brands...should change the whole marketing team
We respect nokia's contribution in mobile phone world but now people are carefull about specifications and price. The main thing is what they have given us not what it was.In china and india nokia is going to be washed out by local competitors. Now nokia is not like before.
Anonymous, 19 Oct 2012It's time for Nokia to wake up and join with Google before it is too late and they will end up... moreThe problems is bigger, Google forces Nokia to uses Google Apps, Nokia don't wanna trow thweir own, theres more behind just "the use" of Android on Nokia phones.
Besides Microsoft does a big investment on Nokias resurrection, N9 was almost KILL Nokia with low sales...
In Celular Indistries theres is more than just "Loyal Users" or "nokia sympathizer of MeeGO" is a company that tries to survive the wave, and Microsoft is doing a good job, no more red numbers here, and Symbian/MeeGO didn't help on this
Now, it's not even with bad products, look at 920. It's a board with lead of stupid CEO Elop, who have screw everything they do, if do anything with stupid decisions, like limited avalability N9 before and now 920 with long waiting period from releasing to launch.
It's time for Nokia to wake up and join with Google before it is too late and they will end up like Siemens.
Industry Insider, 19 Oct 2012Our Nokia representitive comes to store and we have seen wp8 operating system details already.... moreand so do you mr. . . .
anyway. .there is no way in comparing WP8 to WP7/7.5 or 7.8, wp8 is not a descendant of wp7. Wp8 is actually built totally from Windows 8 ( not from windows CE), so there is probably 200 new features in it. So Windows PC 8, RT, and PHONE 8 are all sisters. Making them really very compatible. Just so you know
JUST SAYING. . .
