Basically Apple invented almost all the features in the modern smartphone but copied or imitated by copycats like Samsung, LG, Google, HTC, Nokia, Motorola, Sony....etc.

This is the end of innovation when law can't protect one's novelty & originality!

Say what you want.. but Apple was the first and best at doing the scroll bounce thing.. If this is nothing.. I want the drop down menu on the next iOS to have bluetooth WIfi etc..

Out of the mouth's of babes...

Do you people really think Apple believes they will win eery battle? Do you think the other players might be extra careful when designing new phones?

Apple is doing what they think is best. They are looking at it from every angle. I bet Apple's lawyers laugh when they read comments like these.

My comments aside... I find lawyers to be a curse on humanity. "Tell me a boat full of lawers just sank" and I will be a bit happier.

What gets me is the so-called 'experts' in magazines who find faults with the iPhone, bemoan the lack of real innovation and say Apple are behind Samsung. But STILL give it a five star rating. New 'innovations' on an iPhone are years old everywhere else. Like others here have said - Apple, stop hating on Samsung, LG, Kodak and whoever else you're suing or have sued! Spend your time in R&D and less in Courtroom 3. (Still getting 20+ per cent of your iPhone components from Samsung?)

I'm an Apple fan and this is great news.

Bounce back is awesome and makes the UI feel more alive and responsive.

Google should go ahead and immediately implement it into Android instead of that glow nonsense.

This is the best news I have heard about Apple this year! Hopefully they will take heed and stop their stupidity and compete outisde the court room now. Hence they can possibly make more revenue by producing better, more inivative products.

On a different but related note with the Samsung trial now in some doubt as Apple don't want to make a public declaration of their financial affairs at present it really does not seem their year! ROFL!

Google should implement this "rubber band" effect everywhere in the next version of Android, not because its any better, but just to give crApp£€ the middle finger for so obnoxiously trying to abuse the legal system.

I'm with some of you guys. Apple once stood for innovation. Now all i see is destruction...LOL. I actually like the design of the iphone 5, and think its a solid build. IOS isn't for me but its ease of use is definitely something that will attract the non-tech savy person. But i have no respect for the company, i loath them so much...haha

You GOTTA be kidding me right? Rehect call with text? Just coming in iOS6 and you think Apple invented it?

You must be the woman in that "Waiting in line for iphone 5 for no reason" video? If you haven't seen it, I HIGHLY suggest you look at it to see how you just made yourself sound.

They are going over the limit. Just ask for patent but don't creat anything new.

Anonymous, 23 Oct 2012Is this worth a patent? If it's worth making money out of, yes. Apple has always been greedy and wants to squeeze every cent out of their competitors.

lol "nothing new since steve jobs left"?
My friend iphone doesn't has anything new from the start, look at their facetime, its just a renamed video calling and that too can only be done via iphone to iphone. They release every duplicate feature by renaming and calling it a brand new original innovation.

I tell you their one more innovation, earpode. Which is a renamed earphone.
