Laptops, lol: Always on keyboard, indirect input (touchpad). I pray for the day that Gen X gets out of circulation, their favorite toy would die too. Generation Z already makes fun of you and your ... devices.
This is Samsung trying to cater to a crowd that is unable and unwilling to change their habits. What a monstrosity...
I purchased a phone with OLED display and spent hours figuring out how to save battery and keep the watch displayed on phone. I found out that it's NOT OLED that saves power but AMOLED that saves power when displaying black content.
Jon Cena, 17 Sep 2021on the opposite, oled panels consume less power compared to lcd panels. Idk where did you get ... moreWhen the screen is on a full black colour, oled will use almost no power at all, but if screen is on full white, then oled will use 3-4x power that of a LCD panel.
Jon Cena, 17 Sep 2021on the opposite, oled panels consume less power compared to lcd panels. Idk where did you get ... moreHe's not wrong. OLEDs only save power when doing dark mode (dominantly dark content) and are very inefficient when displaying dominantly white content.
It's a known fact already, IDK why people are over-glorifying OLEDs.

Clearly you don't do enough research. Don't mix up OLED screens for smartphones and OLED screens for laptops, they are two completely different things altogether.
Jon Cena, 17 Sep 2021on the opposite, oled panels consume less power compared to lcd panels. Idk where did you get ... moreMaybe he means it depending to what color is displaying on the screen
If the most of color of screen is black, the energy that needed is less compared the lcd
If the most color is white, the energy that needed is more than lcd
The lcd power consumption is same whatever that content is displayed
That's that i can read from wikipedia/amoled article
If im wrong please inform me

The is no way an LCD with comparable peak brightness consumes less power than an OLED, because OLEDs only need illuminate that strongly the pixels that are active, while non-local dimming LCDs need to illuminate the whole screen that brightly.
I can only assume you are comparing LCDs with lower peak brightness than OLEDs... which is truly a "duh" moment, since it's pretty obvious the significantly less brighter screens also push less power (yep, that's how power consumption in screens works -- checked).

I prefer IPS. sure deep blacks are nice, but having used it for over a year, the look of IPS seems more natural to me. It's easier on the eyes contrary to what samsung tells
OLED panel may be great for colour reproduction, but it does use a lot of battery juice. A comparable laptop with similar spec but with an IPS LCD panel, even with a higher refresh rate, will consume much less power.
DroidBoye, 17 Sep 2021Asus so far has the least expensive oled laptop but knowing OLEDs in smartphones and TVs which... moreso do u have any advice for me on how 2prevent
burn ins in my xiaomi redmi note 10 oled display
?
would really begrate ful to u
for the helpful & kind advice
!
Pretty sure the Zenbook 14X OLED doesn't have a "Pro" variant.
No mini-led , no micro-led..oled for monitors- fantastic in the beginning, disaster after a little while
Asus so far has the least expensive oled laptop but knowing OLEDs in smartphones and TVs which manufacturers treat burn-ins as natural wear and tear or user misuse. I won't be interested in any of these no matter what price and for a laptop that I would be using for 8 hrs total or 4hrs continuous runtime daily.
AnonD-934662, 16 Sep 2021when micro-ledthat's a long way off especially on affordable laptops, I'd say 5 years probably bcoz first it might come to TV's
kek, 16 Sep 2021So, now we have pentile crap and PWM following us on laptops, too. Time to grab some IPS LC... morethey will never as long you're buying a +2000$ laptop.
I got 13.3" Asus Zenbook Oled (by Samsung) and it is FANTASTIC. IPS = BW TV
