Jolla is a Group of Nokias old engineers, so it has a lot to do with Nokia, but I think Jolla still is not a Nokias partner, they are doing their own business.

AnonD-71308, 21 Nov 2012Like Windows phone it's also not "Open Source." it is surely nokia's plan B. And it ... moreNokia has nothing to do with this. This OS is called Sailfish and it's made by Jolla, which is a Finnish company like Nokia. It still doesn't have anything to do with Nokia. And it's totally open source.
The O.S. looks certainly cooler than Android but a closed source O.S. Based on Linux is just lame. Just lame.

Mobilemaster, 21 Nov 2012Some people are not watching the mobile phone news daily, so let's forgive them. :DYea you're right. We must forgive those that do not understand. Lol
Sidenote: Watch the Live Jolla MeeGo event here:

They got Rovio (angry birds) devs on stage now
MeeGo Takeover, 21 Nov 2012Nokia has NOTHING to do with this OS.Some people are not watching the mobile phone news daily, so let's forgive them. :D
for people who keep talking about android logo, please check or search n9, Linux, and where jolla came from, don't get it wrong by your misunderstanding...
AnonD-71308, 21 Nov 2012Like Windows phone it's also not "Open Source." it is surely nokia's plan B. And it ... moreNokia has NOTHING to do with this OS.
Like Windows phone it's also not "Open Source." it is surely nokia's plan B. And it even uses ST-Ericsson Chips. Nokia announced in 2011 that they will use ST-Ericsson chips. It's a pity that this is a closed source O.S.
this is really eye catching,i expect a neat feature package, in category of connectivity and sharing.
It has begun. :D
The takeover train has boarded and is about to depart.
This OS is sweet!!! For starters, it's like an upgraded Harmattan which is VERY good. I bet Nokia are smashing themselves with Cookie Sheets now.
Jolla has done it. :D
With the extra $240+ Million donation they received to make sure that this ecosystem doesn't fail, this will rival Android and may even surpass it in the future.
You see that little Android logo at 00:50? That's for the Apps that MeeGo can EASILY run seeing as it if the FULL Linux instead of Partial Java like Android is. MeeGo can fully run Android inside it's OS WHILE multitasking with other programs in it's own interface.
This isn't "True" Multitasking like Android's NEW "Multiview" feature you say? Well, let me burst that little old bubble because MeeGo has had Multiview since 2010.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5m79buEJQQY&feature=fvwrel
Go to 4:10 for your oh so "New" Multiview feature from 2010.
This OS looks very promising and I can't wait until they release their devices running this.
I like Android but it's too resource hungry, not as much with superuser.
As of now, Android is unrivaled as far as Apps, now actual useful apps are closer in competition across the board. But once Jolla releases this worldwide, I think we'll start to see people developing and once XDA is behind Sailfish, Android will drop the lead they have drastically.
I'm definitely going to be developing my apps and features for this Sailfish MeeGo as well as for all the other OS'.
Good Job Jolla
SIDENOTE:
Once again for you all that think Multiview is new, MeeGo has had that feature SINCE 2010!!! HERE'S PROOF!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5m79buEJQQY&feature=fvwrel
Go to 4:10 to see it
today no one can live without ANDROID OR IOS. So dont try to tackle these FABULOUS platforms because they will DESTROY you. RIP IN ADVANCE.
AnonD-77320, 21 Nov 2012did any one notice tat little android logo on the back screen at 0:50ATTENTION! The Android logo at 0:50 is
because MeeGo will support Android apps.
Anonymous, 21 Nov 2012it's plan B, right? What plan B? Here is not about Nokia. Nokia sadly is going down. I think they will make Android phones when they will realize that they made a huge mistake choosing WP.
