wow this will be the phone of 2013 to get. well done Sasmung you are the innovators of the future.
obviously, all the negative commenters here don't have an s3. otherwise they would be excited with s4.
Anonymous, 07 Dec 2012isn't it the same for the Apple haters? ur right, it is. i used to hate but not anymore.:D besides, the thing's specs are just rumors. people stop hating.
[deleted post]Did you even read the article??? They are not changing the plastic which is good! They are changing the Glass. Obviously you small iPhone screen didn't display that part.
But will the plastic scratch? I'd sooner have the slight chance of smashing a glass screen if abused over a higher chance of scratching if made of plastic.
kirk, 07 Dec 2012news is not yet official and haters are already here.isn't it the same for the Apple haters?

Samsung is for the 1st time in Nokia's and Apple's shoes, now beeing the king(at least from their sales) the expectations for the next model are a little higher. I think we'll see more like the improvements it brings, because inovation I wouldn't really asociate to Samy although they came out with good overall products but with lacks in personality. Of course diehard fans will buy it but the real deal I guess will be the drop in s3's price. Unbreakable? come on...I would like my car to be like that, or the planes:) but phones are pretty solid enough, there are other areas where they could "innovate"...
For all the apple fan boys that are saying bad stuff about plastic: First of all i have a friend that has a 4s and she droped her phone, it shattered all, looks like hell, i have a galaxy s2 dropped it 3 times, doesn't have a scratch
It's a phone, it's supposed to be made of plastic!!! it's like saying a car is bad because it isn't made all of steel!!!
Also another friend of mine that has iphone4 dropped it once, and her screen got a nasty scratch, and an ugly pinch on the side of the phone.
So please, stop talking because you people are brainwashed. Phones are supposed to be made of plastic and it's better, mine doesn't have the slightest scratch and i dropped it outside on cement.
HAHA! In your face everyone that ever said "cheap quality plastic Samsung". The probably melted down some of those disposed of Nokia 3310's to achieve this feat.
cookie monsturr, 06 Dec 2012hey boss, you bring up valid points, but unfortunately chemistry is a very complicated thing t... moreIt appears we're talking about different things, you keep coming back to thermal conductivity and agreed the anodised layer will act as an insulator due to its structure but the material underneath will still behave as it would without the anodising at any temperatures it reaches, all metals do this at different rates but there's nothing you can do about it, you can develop alloys that minimise this but it can never be eliminated completely (although in a device less than 6 inches long this effect is negligible at worst and the build quality won't suffer as a result) also using the aluminium unibody as a heat sync for the electronics is a pretty smart idea.
Put an 4.99" display and for sure I won't buy it. I have a Galaxy S II and I think this is the max decent size for a phone. I'll get a new Galaxy when it goes back to a decent size of 4" or 4.3" max.
It is stupid to constantly increase screen size. Galaxy sIII is already barely comfortale to handle. I know there are sone people carrying noteII and use it as a phone but its ridiculus. I hope other manufacturers will think twice before further screen size increase..
