Anonymous, 25 Nov 2021Trying to milk out nostalgia I see. OG Winamp was great for its time, but Foobar and MPC re... moreFoobar with the little alien icons, lol.
I think I'll stick with WACUP this time.
joe, 25 Nov 2021Agree but I can't get sound to the Bluetooth earbuds while playing Aimp on laptop.Works good for me, so I guess there's something wrong with your settings.
KondriX, 25 Nov 2021I would say AIMP is better, seriously. You should give it a try! Agree but I can't get sound to the Bluetooth earbuds while playing Aimp on laptop.
Welp, so much for that...would complain about it, but the truth is, the current version works just fine so there is no reason to upgrade at all and we can still keep using it, so have fun with whatever bloated junk that ends-up being, I'll be here with my 15 year old app that barely takes 4MB RAM to run.
What? WinAmp is *still* around?? Ahhhh..the days of using WinAmp on Windows 98....memories. :) Let me see if it's available for Win7 or XP. Or better yet on iOS or Android.

Uh, many p... moreI have a 64GB nanoUSB drive in my car. It's so small it's not even visible anywhere and holds thousands of songs I like. It's the best system I've ever used. What I particularly like is how it seems to be the only car that knows how to shuffle within single folder. Every car I've seen, even latest ones with so called "infotainment" systems that cost twice or even 3 times as much, the moment you press shuffle it just goes across entire USB drive. WTF is this idiocy? On top of that, I can do that too in my ancient car. If I use shuffle on root of USB it'll shuffle across all folders. If I do it inside one folder it does just there. No streaming service, modern infotainment system or phone app does this. It's crazy. And I don't need to fiddle with my phone, have it charging or connected to car. It just plays music for me.
And it's same on my PC. I could use bunch of stuff, I even complained for years how Spotify wasn't available in my country. Just to try it when it finally was available and it's garbage to use. Like, absolutely horrid. MusicBee beats it hands down in control on what I want to listen to. I select my collection and use shuffle so it goes through those songs randomly.
"Because after all, who's still listening to offline music only?"
Uh, many people do? What's this shaming? I don't need Youtube wasting my data, I just download an album, plug in my headphones and listen to my music wherever I want to.
I still use v 5.8 on a daily basis.
I have a playlist with online radio stations.
Works great and with minimum resources.
I'd prefer the good old WinAMP the way it was. Just with fixes for Windows 10 and 11 so it would all work properly. But it's been so long I'm not sure I'd even care anymore as I've migrated to MusicBee which is just amazing and can even use old WinAMP plugins. We'll see if redesign is worthy or they butchered it beyond recognition...
Winamp 5.8 plays .mod and .s3m 'nuff said
