AnonD-93012, 27 Jan 2013HTC Butterfly is already full-sized and there's no need to add another phone to it . I don't u... moreNo, 5 inch is not too big, nor is difficult to hold. Now 5inch becomes a standard size for smartphones. Even Galaxy note is pocketable. there must be some reasons behinds this innovation. (but I could not find it hahaha).
100 Moto, 27 Jan 2013Reminds me of the solar powered flashlight appeared in a Hong Kong comedy movice.Yeah, I know that Stephen Chow movie too, absolutely ridiculous!
I think there is no sense even if its having good battery coz its just a remote so for anything u want to do with ur phone is required phone + remote so both batteries in work as well u need Bluetooth, LTE so more battery.
Even if u save some hours on ur smart phone still u need to required charge ur both batteries & remote is not going to work if ur Smartphone battery is over.
So i am sure that this is not going to work. Better they produce nice gaming friendly qwerty keyboard or wireless spycam.
It might work
It should be for phones with screen size above 5 inches which are difficult to remove from pocket and you don't have worry about falling of while doing other tasks while talking
and when you want full screen experience you can take out original phone
Reminds me of the solar powered flashlight appeared in a Hong Kong comedy movice.
no use a10" tablet controlled by 7" remote then 7" by 3" remote then 3 "controlled by 1.5" remote. what d hell is this....just by 52" sony 4k tv and put 1.5 inch remote in ur pocket.
i think this "innovation" can be acceptable if that mini phone has:
1. a huge battery that can also serve as a backup battery for the butterfly.
2. a full qwerty keyboard.
they could have just designed and marketed this as a full qwerty keyboard companion and backup battery. the ability to act as a remote and receive calls should have been added as bonuses, not the main features. users would have like the idea.

Wow it can take pictures remotely; and HTC Butterfly can stand vertically. If you know what I mean. :>
The Idea is noble and the device is cool. However the Butterfly on its own is truly very nice and wonderful to us. Its light, its 5" screen funnily does not look big and overall the OS is just great to use. Maybe HTC had to put an edge to it, and as it stands it does not hurt to have the Mini, but those that want to fool around with it can. Kudos to HTC for trying to be better .
What a wonderful innovation, hope it does not cost a bomb and has a long battery life making the phone,s battery life longer.
It would be not that bad "dumb" mobile phone on it's own, considering funky design and long battery life, but a phone for a phone is really not that appealing to majority of people, I would predict...
I live here in the Philippines, and I have to tell you that theft, robbery, holdapers(muggers) are so plenty here. And our primary means of travel are Public Jeepneys and Buses(easy for them to break in). So instead to text/call using your Beautiful Eye Catching smartphone, you can use this.. Holdapers/Snatchers might think twice to steal this from you because of its looks. :D
HTC Butterfly is already full-sized and there's no need to add another phone to it . I don't understand why someone would need a secondary phone to make voice calls through the primary one . I mean it could be handy when you're using a tablet of some sort but not when you're using what it's supposed to be a phone , or it is maybe a clear admittance from HTC that their flagship smartphone is over-sized like all smartphones these days . What I want to say is : All smartphone manufacturers should re-think about their smartphones sizes cos they are becoming way unnecessarily over-sized .
hahaha why would someone buy a 5" phone which cost $500+ if they actually wanted to use a simple phone?
there are many useless comments from useless people who cannot make any means of seeing innovation that HTC has brought on the table. this will work HTC great piece of art... you're always the first to bring new thing in the market go ahead HTC many will copy that style...
