HAHAHA - 36 Comments, not even one of them positive. The people have truly spoken. So HTC is in trouble with falling sales and falling profits and then they make this? BYE BYE HTC! Kind of made sense for a 10 inch tablet though.

A mobile to handle a mobile.. Don't know what is the purpose of launching this but any ways something new. Would, however, not prefer it personally.

Why the hell would anyone actually buy a remote to control their phone? Come ON HTC it would have been better if you had made a cool looking smart watch.

Maybe not a bad idea. After a long day at work drop your smartphone to charge and use the mini as house phone... a house phone which you can use as your smartphone, SMS, and as remote for various devices at home. Actually NOT a bad invention!

This remote offers some possibilities with 7.7/8 inch devices. Throw in a colour OLED screen and you can replace both Bluetooth Handsets/Earphones and Sony Smart Watches with this.

you can't be too sure. who knows sony is actually set to implement something similar to this. remember how the yuga rumors started and htc introduced the half baked DNA before their actual flaghship, the M7. they could be trying to pre-empt a possible similar product from sony or maybe samsung. sony is planning to launch a 6.44" phablet. a similar setup could be intended for that monstrously sized phablet.

The worst & the most useless product launch of the year (possibly even 2-3 years).
A remote the size of a phone, to control your phone without taking your phone out of the pocket. Tech is also funny sometimes!

this is the proof that smartphones with big display are hard to use for basic functions every day, if you really talk hard. better i buy instead of this htc gimmick a basic nokia just for talking. back to the roots. indeed this htc mini should be better as a basic mobile phone for people with basic needs, like simple entry-level models from samsung and nokia. htc did not have entry-level classic mobiles

Just FYI folks, this Mini device has already been showed in HTC Butterfly commercial (around 00m:50s), that was aired about 2 months ago.
