By the time you scan for the other person's bt, email and messaging would have dump the same file to dozen of people. Plus the added benefits of virus scanning by the various email service.
BT not being popular is because its short distance, needing the other party to be on, and limited transfer speed and slow pairing.. it need to leverage on other technologies to make it viable.. such as wifi direct / nfc.. and to deal with the different by protocol and the various android phones out there. Even Google themselves are pushing the nearby share, which is a type of airdrop.
While I do not know what is your use case, and why you need bt transfer daily. I recommend you an even more "universal" device. Macs :)
With a Mac, you can run windows (if you want lol) even android, airdrop to your 2 iPhone users, bt transfer to your Android users, plus a much much bigger screen to increase your transfer productivity haha.
Andddd NO Always on display...

So you can send anything small to anyone, not just to ppl who happen to use same device. Maybe that works better in America where more people use iPhones. In my entire life I only know 2 people who also use iPhones. Everyone else has Android phones of some sort. Just for those cases. Then I just end up sending it to their e-mail because we all have huge data plans and e-mail is one univeral thing that works the same for everyone. Unlike 150 different messengers with entirely different incompatible protocols where you have to rely on fact that other party also has to use the exact one to transfer files. Which is just silly. It's why I liked SMS despite being insecure and plain. It's universal. You know how hard it was to convince anyone to use Signal instead of SMS lol? Yeah. And it's one of more popular messengers in general if we exclude absolutely horrible WhatsApp from Facebook.
MacOS, iPadOS, iOS in recent updates work very tightly together.
Universal clipboard
Universal control
Airdrop
Handoff
iCloud Keychain
Sidecar
Auto tether
It works on wifi or no wifi, outside or indoors, do not care if you expose your bt broadcast or just with people in your contacts.
If you are invested in Apple environment, one will never return to bt transfer... what kind of legacy was that?
Besides, with Apple, you have access to desktop (MacOS) tablet (iPadOS) and phone (iOS). The integration of Android is not great to desktop (Windows), or even Android to Android (You need to determine if both have nfc.. or bt transfer).

What "protocols"? BT has data transfer protocol that's used by all Android smartphones as well as all the dumbphones from 20 years ago. iPhones simply don't support it because it's allegedly insecure compared to AirDrop. I honestly wouldn't care if it is insecure if it's optional, but whatever.
I tried to help someone out by sending 1 Jpeg image of a festival site map to their iPhone using BlueTooth, we couldn't get it to work, so I just gave them my laminated paper version instead.
Surely this should be possible?

Also no, you can't send photos from iPhone to another user that has Android via Bluetooth.

Had plenty of it on Android and realized I don't need any of it. In fact most of it was low key garbage. Like 500 variants of Launchers and they are almost all terrible. Themes are pretty much all universally ugly.
Really only thing a bit lacking on iOS is 3rd party browsers support and open Bluetooth. I don't really miss anything else that much.
[deleted post]It is your opinion. I got Iphone 12 and Samsung S22 Ultra. Both systems has their upsides and downsides. For me- I enjoy them both

I wish we have a 3rd competitor here. Development and features are growing at a slow rate as compared to earlier.
I miss Windows Phone 8.1 era.
[deleted post]Yet you're so obsessed with it that you went and wrote this post specifically in an iOS 16 news. LOL?
