With this amount of stiff competition and choices available and you want to limit the amount of people who can buy your phone?
Sure.
I'm a current OnePlus user (7T), I wanted a OnePlus for a long time but wasn't able to due to various slimy tactics such as these. I'm glad he's sticking true to his origin story. Don't know why this guy has fans tbh. He's one step above a snake oil salesmen.
Will consider if it is below 300 usd
Anonymous, 23 Jun 2022Also, the ones that have the phone right now, early buyers, youtubers, reviewers, tech sites etc Basically everyone but the normal customers
This "unique" type of marketing will prob be one of the worst. I can't lie, this method will take weeks or even months just to get the unit as a normal consumer which at that point, I would've gotten another phone already. Not to mention I'm 100% sure this system will only be made available on a few countries.
They wanted to build the hype and popularity yet they chose the hardest method in order to obtain the phone 🤦
Reminds me of those failed OnePlus campaigns...
Ladies Only?
Smash the Past?
Pumpino, 23 Jun 2022People are talking, but not in a complimentary way. Only geeks will be exposed to the hype. If... moreOnly hipsters. Lol.
2022 and man still is not done inventing the wheel.
Hmm.. I remember I saw this one before. I wonder when?! Lol.
Well you can tell from it's name that this phone has "Nothing" new and unique to offer, those that buy this phone will realize that they end up getting "Nothing"
Wanted to buy it... Now im longer interested. Im the one paying and i want it when i want it.
Hope this trash fails.
ob, 23 Jun 2022I'm sorry if you think that i am salty but this marketing strategy is not exciting anymore. :(Nah I agree. I was interested but the drip-feed of nothing killed the hype personally.
It looks cool and unique, but ultimately the specs and functions are more important to me.
The processor's not a deal breaker necessarily, but today I found out it's not coming to NA which to me is like.. my bad for being invested I guess? Lol, just come out and say it next time please.. At least I know I'll never be allowed an Oppo or proper Xiaomi
Carl Pei never learnt, did he? Same strategy with no one cares anymore. The brand will be dead before it blooms.
Anonymous, 23 Jun 2022*Some* people are not complimentary about this phone but regardless whether there's more ... morePeople, who could be the target group for this phone, are already disappointed by all the hype, so it can actually turn against it.
The campaign is so boring...
I'm sorry if you think that i am salty but this marketing strategy is not exciting anymore. :(
in the end is just a phone...with limited release what happened if you broke the display? , battery, main camera, case, etc.
Pumpino, 23 Jun 2022People are talking, but not in a complimentary way. Only geeks will be exposed to the hype. If... more*Some* people are not complimentary about this phone but regardless whether there's more likes or dislikes it's generating visibility for the new product which translates into interest and potential buyers that would otherwise not exist if it were not for the hype. And that's the whole point of this exercise which clearly is working as GSMArena and other sites have put out quite a few articles already in succession.
