Hudinited, 20 Aug 2022Using that logic, cars are concept in every country. Phones became expensive and necessary so ... moreYes, phones are no longer a luxury and a need, but foldable smartphones are a luxury. They are the expensive sedans and Ferrari's of phone world.
Zuzuz, 18 Aug 2022They will remain with these orders. In a country with 1.3 billion people, is quite a low numbe... moreAnother good point.
phrrrr, 19 Aug 202250k pre-orders at an average order value of 100000 INR (since trade in and discounts here are ... moreThis is the only revenue they will have for a lot of months until prices fall because more people won't buy it at this price. People who would have bought it bought it now itself.
Also flip I think are more than 2: 1. More like 3 or 4:1.
dt031sin, 19 Aug 2022* 50k in a country with avg. salary 1/3rd the price of flip and 1/5th the price of fold in fir... moreUsing that logic, cars are concept in every country. Phones became expensive and necessary so it's not a luxury anymore and let me tell you that by your standard some "mainstream " devices didn't sell that well in probably a week.
pt020, 19 Aug 202250k for a country with 1.4b people is not much.* 50k in a country with avg. salary 1/3rd the price of flip and 1/5th the price of fold in first 12 hours for a phone that is still a concept style design and in no way mainstream. *
pt020, 19 Aug 202250k for a country with 1.4b people is not much.50k pre-orders at an average order value of 100000 INR (since trade in and discounts here are shitty), and assuming flip 4s outsold the fold 4s 2:1 (again, just an assumption), gives a revenue of 500 Crores INR. In 12 hours. Let that sink in.
professionalnoob, 19 Aug 2022I'm a Galaxy Fold 3 user from India and unlike the US arm of Samsung which gave $900 off ... moreYou can still sell or Fold 3 for good money I'm guessing.
50k for a country with 1.4b people is not much.
shoulder, 18 Aug 2022yeah, 50k in a 1.3 Billion country is 0,001% sales...meh, big fail. even if this 50k are in... moreLOL. The number is just for the pre-orders in the first 12 hours. It's not the lifetime sales. They haven't been released yet.
professionalnoob, 19 Aug 2022I'm a Galaxy Fold 3 user from India and unlike the US arm of Samsung which gave $900 off ... moreUnfortunately, you do not get a $900 exchange value in India, but around $320 for Flip 3 128GB. Galaxy Watch 4 for $37. Additional $87 if you have an HDFC Bank card.
But yes, not as good as $900. 🥲
P.S - I was tempted to get this too. But as compared the to USA, not much value given to Indian customers.
Question is how many out of them are youtubers and buying it for reviews sake.
I'm a Galaxy Fold 3 user from India and unlike the US arm of Samsung which gave $900 off on exchange of the old Z Flip 3, there is no such offer in India. As usual, we have to pay the full price again, haha. I was expecting that maybe Samsung India might offer us something similar to what the US is getting but no such luck. Even if you are a Fold 3 or Flip 3 user, you will have to pay the full amount, after a $100 general discount (which you can avail with any other phone as well). Also, the Z Fold 3 costs about $2000 in India, unlike in the States where it is cheaper (yes yes, obviously tax but also Samsung also upcharges without giving us Indians any special benefits - unless you can call the older generation Samsung Watch 4 as a benefit - I have one and it is slow and laggy unlike my earlier Gear SE)
Fake
surely a lie
It's really very low as far as a country like India is concerned. May be the designs of the z fold 4 and z flip 4 don't attract a lot as these are identical to z fold 3 and z flip 3! And the post COVID recession has a role to play too. Even though, it's better for the Indians to go along with the Samsung...Hurray!
yeah, 50k in a 1.3 Billion country is 0,001% sales...meh, big fail.
even if this 50k are in some 10 million country, then yes is a win, otherwise just prove samsung is playing with costumers and trying to make the image better than they really is.
They will remain with these orders. In a country with 1.3 billion people, is quite a low number. These preorders are made by Telecom and electronic stores, hoping that they will sell these phones.
Waiting for this in Nigeria.
Adegbenro, 18 Aug 2022Samsung should hold their horses and tell us what the sales figures are like after 6 months. Still better than anybody else has...
