GigaHertz wars will finally come to saturated position, knowing that increase in frequency has no more effect on improved OS performances. The Megapixel wars ve already attained a saturation of 13MP and HTC with mere 4MP incorporated UltraPixels concept to increase the Pixel size rather than increasing the no of pixels...OS tweaking might break out a war in near future which Apple did it long back time.

Only those heavy games will start to get the proc busy.
My tegra2 OPTIMUS2x is crawling hot when run NOVA3 for 10 minutes.(my hand sweating)

So means above 2GHZ is useless for normal mobile used.
Just want to give space room for developer to make eye candy game in future.

This might make sense to manufacturers: why the heck create a powerful processor without making any improvement on the battery? Instead of 3ghz, why not make a 5000mah battery for mobile phones? What's the use of a powerful processor yet it wont last for a day bec of the fuckin battery life. Most android users have this frustration.

Anonymous, 21 Feb 2013Hi there.agree with urr explanation. We hope they dont implement "HEATSINK attach" ... moreIntel Pentium 66Mhz was more than overheating back in time (1994/1995) and every intel CPU has been running hot on introduction : they needed fan+heatsink starting 200Mhz.

Today (or last year i should say) we have what? 1.2-1.7ghz CPU in our phones/tablets without any heatsink and barely a warm feeling in our bare hands for most of them when running 100% speed.

Mobile CPUs are running at low speed such as 200mhz when barely used before accelerating to high/max speeds once needed. So bigger battery/cooling etc.. aren't necessary excepted if you are looping benchmarks like prime or video encoding.

I know you are kidding but some people won't see it that way.

GSMArena, surely "ModAp" just means that it is a cellular modem and application procesor on the same SoC?!!!

yes.yes.GHZ master race is ""STUPID"" for the smartphone world.

Adding instruction arithmatic and cpu register is more ideal.
