Anonymous, 20 Feb 2013I could bet that Pentium 4 is still more powerful in some tasks than this Novathor 3ghz ARM.Would you like to install P4 on smartphone and try to prove yourself right?
AnonD-101211, 20 Feb 2013i think a 1ghz single core cpu is enough to be buttersmooth, what we want is more ram and 10000... moreI agree,my 2 year old single core Nexus S clocked at 1ghz runs buttery smooth with 4.1.2...Dual core is the max a cellphone should need..My dual core S2 overclocked @ 1.8ghz is lightning fast to the point my fingers cant even keep up..This quad/octa core nonsense is getting out of control..
anonymous , 20 Feb 2013Guyz what about ps4 launch event? Toady is 20th feb and i don't see anything about it :/From time of writing, it starts in a bit under 2 hours time.
AnonD-87222, 20 Feb 2013Ridiculous. Building a 3ghz chip on a very inefficient architecture this is going to drain bat... moreI could bet that Pentium 4 is still more powerful in some tasks than this Novathor 3ghz ARM.
After the octa-core joke i really had confidence that this nonsense will stop... but, i was wrong. Apparently is easier to increase megahertz and RAM instead of inventing and making a good freaquin' phone... I am starting to hate smartphones now. The future as it is presented has nothing for me. Hope Nokia will not play by this crap war...
intel are pushing their manufacturing process further.. they will be down to 14nm with Broadwell. It will take a while for ARM to get there...
x86-class CPU's have not 'evolved', they have stagnated. At this rate our laptops will have ARM CPUs because Intel can't design anything interesting any more.
Eventually, the Ghz game will slow down and move further towards efficiency in the way Desktop/Laptop CPU's have evolved.
I guess CPU/SoC manufacturers are just having a little fun boasting for the time being.
i think a 1ghz single core cpu is enough to be buttersmooth, what we want is more ram and 10000mah batteries....and that will be charged in less than 60 seconds,,,:D
Ridiculous. Building a 3ghz chip on a very inefficient architecture this is going to drain battery in no time AND provide relatively low performance. This is like Pentium 4.
for what that?!After you will charge your battery 2 times at day...we need a good battery, not ultra pixels, big screens and fake CPU's!
No Thanks. I am talking about real android smartphones specially from.. Samsung, Sony & HTC :)
AnonD-105312, 20 Feb 2013This is too much for phone i think. Better work on battery & make it possible that battery... moreI think I got the phone you want when it comes to battery life.. The cloudfone 430x which definitely last up to 3 days (according to them) the only problem is its thick and a little bulky :)
