Anonymous, 19 Sep 2022Atleast have a78Yeah.. Agreed..
A77 has no real improvement over A76.
Choosing A78 would have been better.
I still think it will be A78.. Don't trust the rumors all the time even though this rumor has stong proof to back it up.
Atleast have a78
I mean the A55 is still the best energy efficiency core available
Don't be foolish and fall into the trap that NEWER=BETTER
A710 are also a disgrace
X cores aren't good either
So only the A78 and A55 is worthwhile which explains why the 8100 is the GOD of CPUs

God bless geekerwan
Vikass17, 19 Sep 2022What are they trying to achieve?lower costs to get more benefit in profits! google is making a lot of mistakes!! I like pure android, I prefer it over any customization layer, but things should be considered better, they take out the pixel 7 with snapdragon 8gen plus 1 and throw the ball out of the stadium
We need so much power for scrolling through Facebook and Twitter and Instagram
And how many games that requires that power oh yes like three or four
[deleted post]I was accused of being Apple agent like 5 minutes ago. I guess I'm suppose to be flattered for being a fanboy/agent of all brands? Which makes me more impartial than all of you lol
Ancient small cores a55 are hopelessly outdated
Not convinced last i checked batteries still only 5wh

That weird ass core configuration can reach over 8W for a measly sub-3k on GB, the 865 equals that score at about 6.5w.
And given that the process node has no advantage in power efficiency, don't expect good enough battery.
Anonymous, 19 Sep 2022Some phones with 8+ still have same thermal issues seen on phones with 8.
In the end, it is ... moreYou're partly correct because tests shown 8+ gen 1 still gives more performance per power watt and uses less power on average. All these indicate less heat for better performance, which definitely means, all else the same, the phone using 8+ gen 1 will have less thermal issues. This is true for any TSMC chip compared to same tier Samsung chip in past few years.
However, it's correct that one cannot solely rely on TSMC chip and ignore software and hardware thermal management. When you build a PC, you need to invest on adequate cooling alongside latest processor.
[deleted post]Go checkout some power efficiency tests the 8gen1 is worse than the 888, At max it draws over 10w, and at normal usage it almost loses to the 865. Geekbench scores aren't everything my man, if you limit the chips to around 5w wattage draw noting Samsung made even beats a 870 "xD it's sad, the best soc currently on the market *non bionic, is the dimensity 8100

In the end, it is ... moreThe 8gen 1 is similar to the cripple 8, "888" it's an oven its inefficient, there was a great video released like 3 days ago testing PROPERLY showing the 8+ is superior In absolutely every way to the 8, and yes duhh if you put either in a crappy chassis with no cooling it doesn't matter, but if all things are equal the Tsmc fabbed chip is just more efficient

In the end, it is not the chip, it is whole internal design of phones.
Flip 4 did worse than S22+ in sustained performance.
LoL Google pixel 7 🤣🤣🤣

Just look at the 8gen1 and 8+gen1 it's literally the same soc just one made by Samsung and the other by tsmc and ofc the 8+ is better

Google needed the Exynos base from Samsung as they weren't able/didn't want to create the chip from the ground up. That's why they needed and used Samsung.
