Because HTC believes that its customers are silly, so it releases very limited feature products with very high price. HTC always sells its products at higher price tag than Samsung, but the specification is inferior. Almost every HCT phone has poor battery life while its competitors boost battery performance.
Also, HTC always leaves some features which are unacceptable for example:
- HTC One X: has bumpy camera, no card slot, difficult to access wake-up button, non-replaceable battery and poor battery life.
- HTC Buttery is very expensive, but poor battery life, non-replaceable battery, 8MP among 13MP, no card slot, and wake-up button is difficult to access.
- HTC One only feature 4MP with ultra pixel, but still low light performance cannot be compensated to 8MP from iPhone 5. 4.7" is only option while more users required larger than 5", non-replaceable battery and no card slot.
Come on HTC! Look at Samsung! It doesn't leave any unacceptable feature like yours.
htc fails because it is not listening to the customers, that samsung is. another flagship (htc one) and yet no card slot and also non removable battery.
if someone compare samsung and htc flagship phone it will be obvious that most of their differences are these. why htc is so blind and can not see them and fix them ???
maybe they do not wish to raise their sales. i can not find another explanation
Anonymous, 07 Mar 2013Haha It seems Sony's rise is due to HTC's fall.True, sony is going up a lot, windows phones are also selling
Maybe it has to do with the fact that HTC offers really poor support in case the phone has any problem, this is a real fact and it applies to all HTC devices
I'm quite exited about the new HTC One but when I enquiry about the 64GB version from HTC website and I got the reply there is no date yet and don't know when......
Very disappointed and I google it and few question people asking the 64GB. Can't wait and go for different phone. In the HTC website saying 32GB and 64GB version but why there is no 64Gb out yet.
maybe customers do not want to invest in buying an expensive htc phone because they only have 1 android version update for their older phones like the sensation/sensation xe models. i think customers w/ older htc models are disappointed that their expensive phones that are < 2 yrs old are not supported by htc anymore. htc needs to rebuild their consumer confidence by upgrading older phones even if its an extra expense on their part.
playForever, 07 Mar 2013Say, I give you two options. 1. 720P display with 3000ma battery. 2. 1080P display with 2... moreYou know if the rest of the world have already gotten their JB update, you telling me AT&T is perfectly innocent? Heck even the European's HOX are getting their 3rd maintenance update that improved performance.
Anonymous, 07 Mar 2013Yes Mr. Frog, If HTC put 8MP ultrapixel I'll buy it. No need 13MP for now. But 4 MP is ... morehave you people evan checked the review and had a look at the picture quality.. if not i suggest you do before you comment on 4mp!
Sims, 07 Mar 2013Please excuse me before cause my english is not very ok. I'm now using HTC One x and before H... moreThe battery is suprisingly very, very good. It lasts me a whole day with heavy use. From 7 to 22 with still some left and I had 5hrs of screen time. I'm just amazed. This is Note 2 category ;)
royaljames, 07 Mar 2013Dude, what's wrong with the CEO. After Steve Jobs, Peter Chou is the one who is known in this ... moreWell, do the average customer look for state-of-the-art hardware? Your logic is so flawed that it is ridiculous. The samsung Galaxy phones have been top sellers and guess what, they have a good amount of RAM + internal storage (currently up to 64GB), replaceable battery AND microSD slot. Moreover, they keep providing updates even for their older phones, hell even their first Galaxy phone has Jelly Bean.
You don't see the connection? Well I do, and it's a bit strange that HTC don't. It seems like the have stared themselves blind on Apple and thought that if they do what Apple does then they will be successful.
It basically boils down to this: if you want to market a product as a _flagship_ product then it should have flagship specs. The HTC phones don't have such specs even though HTC call them "flagship" phones and that's why they don't sell.
You can argue for an eternity about what "the average customer" needs and doesn't need but it won't change the facts stated above.
When they started HTC had the biggest advantage because of the side sliders they created. They have abandoned their strengths and their customers and not found a new strength yet. Blaming marketing wont help as they never had any great marketing - they just used to make the most user friendly phones, which they dont any longer. Looking anywhere else will not help.
Ofcuz if you make good devices and saddle them with nonsensical exclusives...that means fewer devices being sold while millions of ppl who will otherwise buy said device can't get it. Fewer devices sold equals less revenue. I love HTC but they will have to be very aggressive with the sales of the HTC One and shouldn't over price it either. They should also sell it unlocked at a reasonable price. Hoping to bag mine as soon as it is released. For HTC to have a fair fight against Samsung they will have to make a Phablet with a 5.5+ inch screen to go after the Galaxy Note 3, while the HTC One will do battle with the GS4.
Its due to battery problem and poor after sales service...................
