The mobile version Snapdragon 8 gen 2
Has a adreno GPU
It's about equal too a desktops gtx 1050/gtx1630
The Snapdragon processor here similar performance maybe little better as its a desktop arm soc
The mobile arm soc are actually CPU bottleneck at 1080p
E-gpu support
Definitely worth checking if it's worth it and will benefit performance
So interesting stuff I found out from geekerman YouTube channel

there's no way ARM can handle that much load

So you will not see a success with Windows OS on phones and small finger touch tablets.

After all, there are loads of sectors that still rely on older x86 software. Even a private specialist hospital nearby my home still uses Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11 for patient databases and health updates. Microsoft could have gone for a similar route as Apple, but they don't because reworking x86 software for ARM is far from quick and easy.
I really cannot wait for the external GPU support. It's about time we see it on Windows laptops or tablets with ARM SoC. At this point, I don't think I'll be buying any Windows ARM laptop or tablet until the 8cx Gen 4 has been officially launched.
So like Iphone 15 Ultra pro max will be powered by M2 Pro chip used in their laptops we can see something in phones maybe.

Better ... moreYou guys really don't know about Gerard Williams III who currently works in Qualcomm under Nuvia. He is the founder of Nuvia and the ex employee of apple and he wasn't just any normal employee go to his LinkedIn page he was the project HEAD of All the latest apple cpu cores and also THE project head from apple A8 to A14 to M1, M1 max and M1 ultra. He is the one who brought the M1 revolution in apple. He is so dangerous that apple Sued him when he resigned from there after working for 8+ years because they were scared that he may go to rival companies.
Use employees that originally came from Apple? Plus change name yet again for hype?
Better be good, else it means those employees are rejects from Apple...
snapdragon 8cx gen 4 blockbuster hit.. it is so powerful chip. i am so exited for this.hit

But a 12 core SoC with horsepower as potent as the 740 Adreno sounds very promising. I hope it does well
HopeFilledIdiot, 09 Feb 2023Sounds interesting. Not sure why people here think it's gonna failTo be honest I want an ARM based Windows laptop that's going to be a battery beast but 2 things hold it back. Windows isn't that well made/optimized for ARM64 and the SoCs need more horsepower/optimization to run the OS and the emulated X86/X64 programs.
While apple which is making the OS and designs its own hardware and SoC it's on a much better situation. I may even go for a MacBook at the end!
*Until recently Linux support on the Snapdragon 8cx line wasn't that good.
i am predicting oven
I am predicting a flop
Apple: *fidgeting*
Anonymous, 09 Feb 2023Better released next year with new GPU.Adreno 740 is powerfull enough, they just have to bump clock a little bit and its Going to compete with Rdna3.
