Zobi, 25 Aug 2008What's AMOLED display? I prefer VGA if you ask me...AMOLED STANDS for Active MAtrix Oled , it's a better type of OLED screen , you could see it in iriver clix gen2 , it haves vibrant colors and deep blacks , good response time and bad under sun legiblility .
This is disappointing from Nokia nothings new about these 2 handsets that's really eye catching. For example SE C905 8MP w/ Xenon Flash get with the program NOKIA
THE CHRONIC, 25 Aug 2008how about nokia n-series keep coming out new with 5mp cameras and not much improvement and enh... moreNokia are not the best. They may be the best selling, but your statement itself is proof enough that they're no longer top-dog. Certainly when it comes to innovation. I remember the days when Nokia were all about pushing boundaries. I was a Nokia user a while back and switched to SE. And recently they've become kinda stagnant as well. Much as I hate to say it, the market leaders in terms of innovation right now are prob'ly Samsung and LG. Which is a shame as I really don't like either of those manufacturers. Samsung are good enough phones, but it's the UI that I can't get along with - it's just so convoluted and long winded to get anywhere with it. As for LG's - I'll be honest, I can't really put my finger on what it is that I don't like. I'm not a huge fan of the aesthetics of them and something just FELLS wrong. Still, we can hope that this is just the calm before the storm and in a couple of months they'll announce something astounding. Ah well, it could be worse - we coulda bought the iPhone...
you may find nice piece of information about AMOLED at:
in short AMOLED:
1) provides sharper and more vivid pictures
2) is brighter and less power hungry
3) is thinner and lighter
4) makes more pixel/inch possible
5) does not need backlight
Zobi, 25 Aug 2008What's AMOLED display? I prefer VGA if you ask me...Active Matrix OLED dispaly, wich is kinda like a flatscreen pc monitor
I lve nokia, but are they running out of designs? These phnes stil have the same looks!
Zobi, 25 Aug 2008What's AMOLED display? I prefer VGA if you ask me...Haha, no dude, AMOLED isn't about resolution, it's the type of screen used, like TFT or Plasma etc. AMOLED is the advanced version of the OLED display, with a lot of OLED negatives filtered out. That's the reason why it says "exiting". :)
AMOLED means Active Matrix Organic light emitting diode.
how about nokia n-series keep coming out new with 5mp cameras and not much improvement and enhancements... since the n95... wev had the n95 8gb, n82, n96, now these 2... im waitin for a 7/8mp, with better features! cmon nokia. show us why ur the best!

N96, N79, N85,N81,...Nokia made N95 and now is yust copying it because they cant do a better phone!!!!!!!!!!!
Zobi, 25 Aug 2008What's AMOLED display? I prefer VGA if you ask me...AMOLED is a type of LED displays, it doesn't have anything with Screen resolution.
Anonymous, 25 Aug 2008All nokia,s look the same, Plz tell the nokia Freaks to change there look. Wait i dont care be... moreBest looking phones are made by Nokia!
Samsung - all similar cubic-shaped (sick of them), SE kid toys :P Motorola with huge dimensions and thin with small displays, LG, ok LG makes good ones too! iPhone - lol, maybe kids like it...
Zobi, 25 Aug 2008What's AMOLED display? I prefer VGA if you ask me...AMOLED stands for Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode;
basically it's just the way it's oriented in the back of the screen;
and OLED is apparently brighter and more energy efficient etc.
If this phone comes with US 3G and has a xenon flash im getting it i think it's gonna be one of nokia's best
Hm, with the N85 getting an AMOLED screen, I hope the N96 will be getting one as well. A camera update would be nice too, lol. But I guess that won't happen, since the specifications have been announced months ago.... :(
