Well my Atrix HD is as compact as it gets and is as good as it gets in the midrange segment, 720p 4.5'' display and a not too big footprint, decent specs and sturdy built. Just adding a Quad A15 and 2GB of ram, twice the internal memory and Maxx battery and this would be a perfect top of the line mid-sized smartphone!
4.3 inch | 720p | IPS+ | Gorilla Glass 3
dual/quad core krait CPU | 2GB RAM | 16GB ROM
removable 2000 mAh battery | all major sensors
-4.6" HD 720p IPS with Corning Gorilla Glass 3
-Tegra 4 chipset
-4500 mAh removable battery
-32GB internal + expandable microSD up 64GB
-2GB of RAM
-price < $500
and i want it with LG or Sony.
High Time someone did this!!
Thank you GSMArena :)
Simply put in words,we want a 4.3 inch Xperia Z :D
I was pretty surprised to see this since every time I read one of your comparisons the phone with the bigger screen is listed in the positive column.
This is probably not an omission from Android manufacturers. Producing a bigger size phone was to differentiate with iPhone. I guess until today no manufacturer wants to compete with Apple in the same screen size with their flagship products.
For me, I just want a phone as big as possible but enough to fit in my pocket and I'm happy with my Galaxy Note.
AnonD-105714, 15 Apr 2013Xperia SP is closest to that. 4.5inch, dual-core 1.7Ghz Snapdragon, 720p, 1GB of ram(maybe the... moreXiaomi M2A - dual core 1.7 ghz with Ardeno 320 GPU. 4.5 inch screen with HD resolution. Nice 8mp camera (not iPhone 5 level, but pretty solid). And the price is ridiculous - $250.
Excellent initiative GSM Arena. Hope this dream turns into reality.
Isn't Samsung doing that with their s3 mini and s4 mini? if s4 and s4 mini have the exact same specs with just the difference in screen size, Samsung won't be cutting down any cost. They give you the same software hence the same experience (almost) of their flagship.
but!!!! iwant a full hd screen in a phone!!! but if you tell me about screen size i'll go for 4 inch screen below.
Why 4.2" and not 4.3"? On GSMArena own phone finder you can't select the screen size of 4.3" only 4.2"?!? or 4.5. There are some Android phones with 4.3" 720p screen, 8MPix camera and quad cores, but in order to find them, you need to set the screen size to 4.5.
Something stinks here!
What about battery life? In my opinion this is the most important aspect that phone designers should focus on.
I do not have any data plan, not because I can not afford it, but because it will kill my battery. I have a " wireless mobile phone", but with today's technology, this wireless mobile device has to be connected to a socket in a wall for an hour every day. They should call it a semi-wireless semi-mobile phone....
AnonD-99764, 16 Apr 2013I think the major problem is going to be the battery life. You can't place a 2400 mAh battery ... moreYou are totally wrong cause i am using an android with 2100mah on 4" screen(samsung galaxy axiom)
With a small increase in width its possible.
But thats not the way technology should be heading, we should have efficient SOC and OS that works well with smaller batteries.
