Nokia Asha seems tough to compete with android devices coz there's wide range of choice and over several brands in Android OS....
nokia is in talks with whatsapp ppl.. soon it is goin 2 come on nokia 501
nokia should release a midrange phone with Nokia Asha software platform 1.0 os with dual sim & 3g (nokia doesnt have any dual sim phone with 3g), 3.5" screen with VGA screen resolution, 1ghz processor, 256mb ram, vga video recording @ 30fps, gorilla glass, fm radio with built in antenna & fm recording, wifi hotspot, document viewer/editor and at least 1300mah battery
They are flooding the market with cheap ashas( or ashes?) since they cant do much in the smartphone category.
Anonymous, 10 May 2013Nokia dumped Symbian, Meego, and S40 for this???"This"(Asha OS), sir, is much more advanced than iOS on iPhone. Multitasking, built in file manager, mass storage mode, bluetooth file transfer.. It even has a notification tray!(take that WP8). It is only limited by its hardware currently. Put in HD screen and Pureview camera it will cannibalize the Lumia series till extinction
Nokia lumia will get some serious competition once the midrange and high end new ashas come out.
Allanitomwesh, 11 May 2013Another terrible Asha with ordinary battery life and build quality. A 1200 battery? Lol. No ma... moreHei, 48 days standby time and u said terrible battery... And about d multitask, it can multitask.. Check 501 video on youtube. If u don't have idea about anything, dnt post comment here like dumb..
nith, 10 May 2013Good that MeeGo is back.Dumping it earlier was a blunder by Nokia. This isn't Meego, it's an operating system based on the acquisition of Smarterphone.
PL2, 10 May 2013Because you used the word Fandroid. D'oh!Nice try. How is calling you a fandroid an attack on Android?
Another terrible Asha with ordinary battery life and build quality. A 1200 battery? Lol. No matter how efficient they boast, I'm not buying it. Put at least 1700 and we'll talk Nokia.
Also,a "new" OS still based off S40? Seriously? S40 cannot multitask. It's more of pausing, like a bookmark. Haha.
