Anonymous, 25 Sep 2008do you have any research proved that people like keypad more than touchscreen? i have a think ... moreYes. There is research to prove it. Most people just want a phone that can make calls and send messages. That's why they sell more than the others. That's why full touchscreens aren't that popular. If they gain more ground, they shall be implemented as a secondary feature i.e. The phone shall have a keypad and the screen shall have touchsreen capabilities.
Dan, 25 Sep 2008Sounds like you live in america. The iphone has only been successful there. In other continent... moredo you have any research proved that people like keypad more than touchscreen? i have a think why people choose keypad rather than touchscreen because most of touchscreen phones are expensive. But somehow, i think in the future there will be more touchsreen phone and it will become a new trend. thats why nokia hurry to produce touchsreen phone while samsung and others already in the front....
Nokia are finally getting the styling and feel right, I might be turned back...
I got an opportunity to test this device today. Very light weight, big 3.2 inch bright screen. I found it very very slow & not as exciting as an IPhone. Nokia, still long way to go.
Anonymous, 25 Sep 2008Good effort frm nokia but can this beat SE W902? NOP!What in the hell you are talking about? W902 is not even in the same leage of 5800 tube. W902 is just a feature phone when 5800 is a touchscreen smartphone. In case you forgot, nokia already announced n79 & n85 which can beat w902 anytime.
I saw this device was used in The Dark Knight movie when Batman use this phone to ruin the defend system of Chinese guy's building in Hong Kong. Very nice ads but I don't like the design.
here is the price...
Anonymous, 25 Sep 2008I don't understand why people like to compare iphone in terms of "features" with all the other... moreSounds like you live in america. The iphone has only been successful there. In other continents like europe, asia and africa, almost everyone has a nokia. The other brands are samsung, motorola, sony ericcson and lg. Even the fake chinese phones are more popular. Apple wont be found anywhere in these places (save for a few places in europe).
Majority of people worldwide dont like touchscreen phones. They prefer a good old keypad. Nokia knew this and so did other brands. Thats why they didnt produce many touchscreen phones before apple entered the game.
Nokia waited a bit longer because they are implementing a new OS. No one else has done that. These kind of phones are stil very much niche products at the moment. Most people will go for candybars, then slides, then qwerty.
And for your information, n95 did sell more than the iphone worldwide.
nice work nokia, althou i dont like touchscreen phone but this looks very promising.
This phone looks as if it's gonna be good.... i have confidence in Nokia because to me it's the best brand of phone. I hope this phone can set personal ringtones for certain callers instead of putting them in a group
