Great Phone again from samsung. they are capturing high end market from nokia. hope this cell is big hit
[deleted post]Nokia has already forecasted drop in their 3rd quarter result. High-end crown is taken over my samsung. Now nokia is feeling the heat in Low-end market as well.
Its already been reviewed. PIXON is a series. So we will be seeing more of these next year. It has a LED flash. In many ways and situations a LED flash is a superior choice to a Xenon unit, especially when shooting from several meters away. On the other hand, Xenon flash modules fare much better when it comes to close-ups. So no issues here. In some cases it even takes more detailed and smoother shots than Innov8. Given it's price compared to innov8 it's said to be most affordable 8mp around. GPS is limited to geo-tagging only.

even it doesnt have all pack features that i8510i has... the price of this phone is still expensive...Samsung
samsung's done it again, samsung, lg sony ericsson are the top 3 for me. they're all rising, can't beat them. i'm looking forward to this brilliant piece of work!
Bryan, 26 Sep 2008o wow....is that thing on the back corner supposed to be a flash....
ok i kno samsung never... moreSamsung are the first to introduce camera phone with Xenon Flash, SCH-B600 (CeBIT 2006 in Hannover, Germany). SCH-B600 also have 10 megapixel CCD camera and 3x Optical Zoom.
Samsung SGH-G800 and Symbian Smartphone SGH-G810 also have Xenon Flash and Optical Zoom.
I think Samsung want to compete LG KC910 Renoir with this model.
Samsung M8800 Pixon wins in screen(3.2"), video recording(WVGA 30fps) and UI(TouchWIZ).
LG KC910 Renoir wins in connectivity(WiFi), storage(8Gb internal memory), and sound(Dolby Mobile, but maybe Samsung M8800 Pixon also used DNSe 2.0 or Bang & Olufsen ICEPower Amplifier)
Also remember, Samsung still have another High End Multimedia Touchscreen phone.
Mahmood Kalantar, regional director of Symbian s60 in Asia Pasific, said that Samsung now working on a touchscreen Symbian OS.
Maybe this phone also have 8 megapixel camera to compete with Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.
Samsung now used very closed strategy with other brand. Remember after Nokia release N78 with Symbian 9.3 s60v3 fp2, Samsung also release SGH-L870 with the same OS. Samsung L870 also have same CPU with Nokia N96(Nomadics STn8815 by STMicroelectronics).
You only need wifi if you are a buissnes man or you live with the phone and nothing else, my phone should be small, good kamera and fun to have, i rarely use the internet on the phone i use the net everyday on my job, so i dont want to use my sparetime sitting looking on a phone, ok if you dont have a life i can see the point.
There are always problems witk Nokia phones, HTC are way behind, SE phones are ugly and stupid to use they are build for kids.
Overall good features..but lack of Wi-fi disappointing..
o wow....is that thing on the back corner supposed to be a flash....
ok i kno samsung never rlly has a good camera phone because none of them have xenon flash.....and now this is just pathetic. i love samsung...but this might be the final drw...at least dual LED i mean cmon!
lack of wifi is huge mistake, the deal breaker.
i bet some people will buy this phone cause of this pro edited video....^^
no wifi? whats the point of the phone..
A recomendable model frm samsung, not bad at all, hey what about nokia? Still doesnt 8 mpix cam models? Too bad!
unsure weather this is worth my upgrade or not due to flash doesnt look very good speaker note i say speaker not speakers!! look very very poor and no sign yet of if this has 16 million colour display screen or not?? I cant really undertand y a any 8mp phone does not have xenon flash?? I can live without xenon flash if screen is 16million colour.. And as for wi-fi it is no longer required as the main networks offer unlimited web browsing so wi-fi shouldnt be an issue
this phone is masterpiece althought you don't have wi fi you still have the hsdpa 7.2 samsung they sure knew how to surpass other phones
No wifi=no gd
OMG! WVGA Video!!!
now thats forward technology
now the nokia fans will stop shouting 'VGA Video' in every forum lol....
in my opinion anything above 3mp is too much for a mobile phone. it's just the sensor size that is limited in such a small body. therefore 8mp sounds like a show off to me. what's more, i rarely find use of pics > than 3mp, that's why i went for the k800's little brother - the k770. i was really into some 5mp phones but the image quality just didn't seem worth it.
