This is just a rubbish phone.
I could not understand by HTC bother to release such an low end model. :(
Here in Indonesia even on rural and/or remote places, people starting from elementary school already using Android. And yes, sum of them tend to buy cheapest product as possible to keep on track with the trend.
It would be wise if there is a product called "Student Edition" for phones:)
Anonymous, 17 Jun 2013dumb phone... mid end and low end are just a wasteI disagree, i think there should be low-end and mid-end, not everyone could afford high-end phones.
looking like sony xperia tipo....and its price may be around 10k
After seeing this entry level phone, i'm hoping they are making a low-mid end HTC Desire 400 to compete against Sony Xperia M and Samsung Galaxy Ace 3...it's 'quietly brilliant!'
It's laggier than my 2 years old Defy(800 mhz single core processor)....
this video is an example of how pathetic android is on mid rangers and entry level phones . look at the lag and speed of the user interface. absolutely pathetic even for a 1ghz processor . thats why people are liking lumia 520 so much
Why HTC? add a little more pixels to the screen, why companies insist that small phones must be cheap phones and specs must be lower, bad camera and low res screen.
I like the the size of the screen 3.5" and i wish to see high-end phone with this size, over-sized phones not for everyone, i hate them.
S4 mini, I mean One mini then now this? Yeap, I can confirm HTC is following the footsteps of Samsung and Nokia - releasing millions of overpriced medicore phones that no body bothers.
At least, Nokia finally got it right when they released Lumia 520, which is very well priced(under $150) and practical.
It has to be cheaper than Samsung's alternatives. Because HTC Sense brand not working in low-end handsets market and it must be a good smartphone for the price.
why are HTC bothering with several phones? Just one expensive phone, one phablet and one cheapo one. Not ten different ones.
wow look how slow this thing is.
hate when company release shitty phones like this because this might be someones first android smartphone and they will a horrible experience with android
It seems Htc cannot do away with the "Desire" name. I think Htc "desire" should have been a flagship of Htc since the Htc "desire" phones (Desire Z, Desire HD, Desire C,) are all good midrangers. I hope this phone will be better than it's "Desire" siblings.
Htc mid rangers are the worst. Compare those specs to ace2/3 or Xperia J
