Thought having a "comments" section actually helps people like me read useful comments about the phone. Instead I get things like why 400MB and not 16GB. Why keyboard when there's touch screen, why this and that.

Firstly, if a person has no experience using touch screen phones then the person has no right complaining about trash touch screen.

Second, if a person has no experience using WIndows Mobile or buys say a HTC or Samsun WinMo decises just for the kick of it then he has no right commenting on WinMo.

Last, if a person doesn't understand a phone's target market and just jump on the "it's cool" team, he should be commenting if a phone is cool. Not whether its good.

I think the X1 is good. But it arrived late. The new HTC Touch lineup looks on par with the X1 spec wise. The only thing going for this phone it seems, is the SE only functions like the custom Today screen, SE media management (PSP look), Walkman player and the music ID thing. Other than that, seems a little late and probably quite pricey as well. Between this and the Touch Pro? Touch Pro. Mostly because its HTC and not SE. SE's reputation has been very badly battered lately with only the W910i the biggest mover in the past 2 years.

Vaan, 11 Oct 2008Why can't Sony Ericsson just add 8 or 16 gb of memory onto the Xperia X1 instead of 400mb, Sam... moreit comes down to whether you want a phone or an ipod.

the iphone tried to do both- and it failed as a package.

Personally i have an 8GB sansa View and a 16GB Zen x-fi. why would i want a third MTP device for my music?

the phone is great as it is. it isn't trying to be an mp3 player, and i respect that

Vaan, 12 Oct 2008I know but isn't it better if you have the 16 or 8gb memory on board ready for you to use with... moreEvery phone has features that the other ones don't. Having a built in keyboard and optical joystick are things I can't add on my own. I can add memory when I want and how I want (and believe me Apple and Samsung don't just give it to you for "free". It gets added into production costs.) And you're also looking at unsubsidized costs versus subsidized costs. Try to shop for an "unlocked" 3g iphone w/o plan (that lacks keyboard, joystick, decent camera, video recording, sms, expandable memory) and see how it compares.

dan, 11 Oct 2008we've got microSD expansion... so in 1year you could have 128G(new SDHC drivers maybe) on you... moreI know but isn't it better if you have the 16 or 8gb memory on board ready for you to use without spending more money on a memeory card, especially if the Xperia costs quite alot. Even Samsung Omnia has a memory card slot with it's huge onboard memory.

fakuryu, 11 Oct 2008YOu need a keyboard because handwriting recognition is not as fast as typingCan you use handwriting for e-mail an d for calendar? Any experience if it works? If so you do not need a key board and you can go for Omnia or HTC HD.
