SN, 28 Oct 2008Yes SE products unit price is very high (really higher than Nokia). Because their new products... moreI agree and have always maintained that SE produce excellent devices. Let us hope that the media rumours concerning possible internal politics at SE becoming a problem for the company's long term strategy are unfounded. The C702 which you have is one of the most underestimated devices in SE's current portfolio. And let's look forward to new Xperia devices for 2009.

Got the handset yesterday 27th, and have not been able to put it down, not had it crash once yet which is good for a WM device, one thing tho charged it yup fully last night and battery lasted approx 10 hrs before it needed a charge, hopefully just been using it too much and not a sign of things to come.
If you can afford it get one and stick two fingers up to your mate with the iPhone

Don't you people have nothing to post apart from the usual complain about the price. It should have a 8mp camera & so forth. When they do launch a 8mp then you people will say "Oh, it should have a 10mp!" There is no such thing as an end all & be all phone out there at the moment. Even if manufacturers can come out with one, they wouldn't simply because of size & cost constraints. There is no such thing as the best phone in the market. Every phone has it plus & minus points.
Do not forget every phone that a manufacturer launches into the market. It is targetted at a specific market segment. I must admit of late the market segment has not been so clearly defined & quite a lot of over lapping has occured. Last but not least the sole purpose of these phone manufacturers is to make profit. If not they wouldn't be here in the 1st place. Period.

Who woul... morepoint taken absolutely right, there's no point arguing about the price of the phone it was never going to be a cheap phone. And still if you think its costly just compare it to Nokia 8800 or MOTOAURA and you can see S.E.X1 has more features...

Personally, I think that everyone who're crying about the price tag, are the kind of people who don't understand the potential of this kind of product and just want one to show off... Wining about, "Oh, it should have a 5 MP camara","I want it play DivX movies"... It's based on Windows, do some searching on the net and you will find almost for sure the software you would like to have on it... FOR FREE! It should have more memory, because the iPhone blah, blah, blah... That's why it has a memory slot for YOU to upgrade if you think the onboard storage capacity is to little.
For me, just the fact that it is currently the only quad-band GSM, tri-band 3G pocket PC with WiFi, GPS and other REALLY relevant stuff for true power users, makes it worth while. Is the price tag hefty? Of course if it was cheaper that would perfect, but as someone stated earlier, no one goes to a Ferrari, Lamborghini or even a Mercedes dealer and b*?&h about the price...
If you can't afford it, stop crying about it and at least admire it on a technical level for real business users and not wannabees and posers! Nuff said ;-)

this is a really good phone but it is very expensive it is rather expensive then the other pocket pc.s all other htc products are expensive but not like this one.this could be rather good if it has 8 mega pixel like samsung

Flavor, 28 Oct 2008I agree with you. But in Indonesia, having Nokia E90 is a matter of status. Everyone's blinded... moreyes i agree with you but in that time no phone has better feature than E90 but now E90 is out date even cant be compared with HTC touch pro..right now i know in indonesia E90 price is about IDR 7500000 - 9000000 but dont have higher feature than x1 with also about IDR 8000000 but it is the first x1 price not like the E90 price is about IDR 12000000- 15000000..i think x1 is not expensive for high end phone at the first launch...

The X1 would naturally be very expensive because it was made by HTC. Have you ever seen a cheap HTC product? & the OS itself, Windows Mobile, adds to the additional cost of the phone. WM costs much more than symbian or other phone OS's.
