Anyways still waiting for review gsmarena
Why so much complaints about camera? For those that want a good camera, there is the galaxy zoom. Optical zoom and xenon flash anyone?
Each phone/phablet/tablet have their advantages and disadvantages. There is no need to discredit it this much just because it lacks some features? The phone is thin by not including stuffs like good camera (optical zoom). The same way we can't expect the Galaxy zoom to be 7mm thick.
shut uuupp!
This is a phablet with 6.44 inch screen. With or without flash you're not gonna buy it either way, you know why?, because you don't like Sony!
I was so disappointed for these ultra for lack of flash but I love xperia with a huge screen more than the flash and I saw this kind of triluminos display in my own eyes and believe me its the best display out there (for me).
Im using xperia z right now and this is gonna be my next phone.

Now wait for the trolls to point flaws in the flash photo, and tell us how great the non flash photo is ahah. Both are flawed, yes, but leaves no doubt which is the far better one.
My daughter love that bag, the strong colours and the many details made it the best choice for this demonstration.
First the no flash photo, as you can see the noise and graininess is terrible. Further, the purple Disney logo is red, meaning colors are very much off as well, despite the fanboys telling us that led flash should be the one to destroy the colours. There you see what do they know, another proof of how clueless they are.

Now the flash photo, colors are close to reality, its clear and lively with minimal noise (for a mobile, on a Sony NEX5 this would be mediocre at best),

Facebook added a lot of compression artifacts that is clearly visible at the flash photo, don't mistake this for noise. I can't share my cloud storage due to privacy, full untouched samples therefore not possible at this time.
I'm gonna upload some exmor RS photos shot with Xperia Z in semi-low light conditions indoors, far from dark, so everyone can see how foolish it is to say that you don't need a flash.
Most of us already knew this but for those who have no experience with RS sensors I think you need to see that RS is not a magic miracle sensor. Much better than older Sony Exmor sensors but far from what you would call a low light champion. I'm impressed with indoor photos from Xperia Z, really bright, but lower the light and noise eats in too fast.
Photos to follow....
Anonymous, 03 Aug 2013Up to you if you don't take photos in the dark, at party and so on, but then again, from your ... moreHmmmm.... Private photo???? Sounds interesting.... Hmmmmm... @topic with or with out flash, i'm still interested to this mobile phone. Just waiting for overall review.
i am a sony lover never used phone other than sony .. but no giving a flash has made me rethink abt this device as i am kinda person who can just randomly take out my phone whenever i see something worth capturing day or night , was waiting for a triluminous + reality display so eagerly but not anymore . i can only hope for honami to bring back the bang.
Anonymous, 03 Aug 2013So you are delusional as them. On 99% of phones in low light capture little to nothing without... moreThat guy clearly has no experience with very low light photo, and no knowledge about Exmor RS for mobile. The other possibility is that he is trolling.
I hope my next Xperia has as good led flash as Galaxy S4, its quite evenly lit and foreground objects appear somewhat equally lit with background and edge objects in many photos, colorwise it's not 100% but otherwise is on par with the N82 xenon flash (which was a notch better than N8). Otherwise the S4 cam didn't make me feel like my Z had inferior cam, they both have different weaknesses in different scenarios. We just need that Sammy led, you hear that Sony?
AnonD-170966, 02 Aug 2013Honestly, whoever buys a phablet based on the led flash should go and see a doctor. That thing... moreSure. ZR is crippled by 8GB internal storage, so much for high spec internals. Plus the removable back cover, it does not feel reassuring, doesn't make you wanna jump into the pool, no. Third point is low res front cam, and 4th is not a disadvantage but take note of the display being one notch smaller than the current flagships.
See? I could just as well be talking about the Xperia V, the ZR is the Xperia V-II.
Many users have already reported water damage to their ZR, same as Xperia V. Removable back is not suitable for water proof phones, please spend a little extra for Xperia Z instead, the battery is equally good and most everything else is better on Z.
The Z Ultra must be worse than I thought, so many fanboys trying to troll about "no-one need a flash". Desperation.
Xperia Z is the only great and complete Xperia, great battery after 4.2.2, more than 10 hours screen time, a small flash only but enough to make the photos useful at shorter range, and a much higher ppi. Z ULTRA should not use its name, it's a shame. Here's to hoping the Honami will restore Sony's reputation or else I'm gonna be bored keeping the Z for another 8 months.
Sure a photo taken with led flash is not gonna win any prices, but at least your friends can recognize the faces when uploaded to social networks. Trolls saying we should not have taken these photos in the first place are just desperate.

The fact is that cameras had flash since the beginning because we needed it in dark surroundings, a few weirdos telling us it's suddenly useless is just laughable. My private photo collection clearly tells me that I need one. Everyone know this, cameras dont work in the dark, a few desperate Sony fanboy trolls isn't gonna change that.
