Second the first three Iphones where plastic.
The first 5 broke beyond easily.
You have no clue how they use their money.
And no Samsung's winnings was vitoed...But Samsung won.

My dad certainly would HATE Android. As do many other people who can't be bothered with geeky tech.

In hindsight I don't think he's any more happy with the S4 than he was with the iPhone 4S, he just doesn't use his phone that much to really spot the difference.
As for myself, I had to run him through most of the setups, help him download some apps and customise his phone. I really didn't enjoy it. Android is great, but there's too much happening, too many options, buttons to press, screens to fill, etc.
For the foreseeable future I'm happy with my iPhone, and I say this whilst I can honestly say that I like the specs of the SG4. But it's just too much for my own liking.

I haven't seen any stats on this, but I would imagine that the percentage of "roots" and jailbreaks between the two OS's would be somewhat consistent.

The "plastic" iPhone will be a low cost version, while there will be a premium version.
And Apple has more money hoarded away than Samsung can dream of. They just won another patent case against them.
Samsung might sell a lot of mass produced, multiple variants of phones, but Apple are still shaming them with just a few versions of theirs.

Try installing updates after less than TWO years without a root.
Come on, you're bleating on about how rooting isn't needed and that Android is completely customizable, when it clearly isn't.
There are those of us who want to play around and spend hours customising devices that spend large amounts of time in pockets, and those of us who who find our phones just fine as they are.

Clearly you're a 14 year old why got the original ipod when it first came out and never looked back. Also I'd put money on it that you've never even held a Samsung device.
Anyone else noticed the Crapple fanboys aren't quoting their "cheap plastic" line too much anymore? Haha :)

- because people who buy phones with wp 7.5 don't get update to WP 8, and this is important because...
- WP8 brings some of new "features"
MT1385 u call me troll but, but u dont get to what I wrote above ? And what was previously written, I wrote some disadvantage r still not been changed, some will never change because is MS philosophy of WP. If you have not read, I repeat it for you "some of disa.." not all, Ok ? And some will never change - do you understand ?
One more...I mention this in the context of presentation new OS - WP, because of the above reasons, WP have such a small market share, even smaller than Windows Mobile. You really think this is good result (maybe MS dont care but Nokia... :D )?!
Why is it so important ? Because even basic solutions need to be updated, quite a lot things, and for each new update people (others as well Nokia) r waiting for a long time. A lot of things to do and they work so slowly.
Very nice gsmarena, very responsible on monitoring the posts and executing the rules and regulations. Hehehehehe.

Android is a highly functional OS more capable than any other mobile system atm. IOS is nice, but is just a restricted app launcher. It uses those restrictions as an illusion to look perfect, but horribly fails. Which defeats the whole purpose in the end
The more we progress, the more apparent at how much better iOS is. Smooth and intuitive, and definitely more solid than Android can ever hope to be.
iOS 7 will simply take it to the next level.
Android of course will continue having more marketshare, due to cheap hardware making up the numbers from the bottom end.
It's true iOS 6 and WP8 work flawlessly, unlike Android OS which just lags like hell. It's just that truth is always unpleasant.
