You sir are ignorant.. This "midrange" phone will outperform the galaxy s4 in every category except the camera in real world scenarios. There is no lag minimal bloatware and its features are actually useful. Think before you speak .(speaking of the moto x and the new droid lineup)
Nice ;)
The only thing that's gonna be a disaster is gonna be the camera. Moto sucks with cameras. Moto can make great phone but they should somebody else do the camera
Oh no crap, that's bad!!! It'll be available only to the U.S. Nexus fans elsewhere definitely disappointed :(. Worst part Motorola completely pulled out of India recently. Was looking forward to upgrade my N4.
I would like to see :
1.sAMOLED/True HD IPS screen
2.5.0" or 5.2" 1080p display with RGB matrix
3.Snapdragon 800 2.3GHz processor & Adreno 330 GPU
4.3GB RAM
5.16/32/64GB internal storage option
6.13/16 mega-pixel rear camera with 1080p & 2.2 mega-pixel front camera
7.Stereo speakers
8.3000mAH battery
9.Unibody design
10.Another variant with dust & water proof feature (just like Xperia Z & ZL)
11.Price range $349-$499
If Google can pull this out then i will definately buy the next Nexus and surely it will be the most successful phone of 2013.
I hope you guys are ready for a Dual Core Nexus.

i want to switch to android 'again' from my iphone but only 2 reasons stop me:
1. when i used to have high end android, it was 4 inch screen, now its impossible to find a high end android with such comfy screen.
2. nsa is putting physical surveillance hardware on 2/3rd of android devices (its already there on 1/3rd of them) makes me feel weird.
till these two problems are completely resolved, iphone ftw!
People are very funny. Google makes a lot of money through Android OS and other services. And they did buy Motorola for patents to protect the OS against mainly Appel.
To day the make the Moto X and build their own chipset to add additional featurings on what comes with the normal CPU like S4 Pro used on the Moto X.
Funny enough, Google master his own Operating System and knows where is going with it and does choose to put advance or high CPU for is OS to run smoodly. That why the X is a High end phone but seem to be mid range.
Funny and very funny the Moto X does what other High end phone can't.
The Moto X is the only phone in this planet to really being "Touchless" and that powered by Moto own made Chipset called X8.
Does Moto care to beat Samsung or Sony? No, No, No
Because all those company can make money because of Google Motorola. But Google would like to beat Appel on his iPhone series.
Google doesn't rush to show up is ultimate device in the market but the best experience device in the market which is simple the Moto X.
At the end if Moto does the Nexus, it will be a Nexus product but not a Moto one although it made by Moto. And this will follow the Nexus program not the Moto one.
Jealousy, jealousy, jealousy is not good. Moto made the best Android ever the Droid or Millestone as pure Android phone and was the best android 2009 and best android seller too. But Moto was along with losed a lot of money previewsly. Still the Droid bring it back to compete in the market.
Today Moto and Google are one. Are you people crazy yo think Moto, I mean Google will not make money or lose by making Android phone?
Keep on Dreaming all your companies (Samsung, Sony, HTC, LG and so one) need deadly the Android OS.
AnonD-87222, 11 Aug 2013Each company was given 2 shots at Nexus devices. Although LG screwed up availability last year... moreYour comments re Motorola re wrong, and I speak from experience. I have a RAZR i, and the build quality, display, speed, reliability, ergonomics and software innovation (such as Smart Actions) are better than even some high end phones. Their RAZR Maxx etc are great too. Way better build quality and thoughtful design than any other brand. And the Moto X is even better, except for the camera image quality.
The LG Nexus 5 rumoured earlier also seemed nice. But don't forget, Google said there may be multiple Nexus devices this year! We already have the pure Android Galaxy S4 and HTC One! (I think there was an S4 pure anyway. Correct me if I am wrong.)
Either way, don't discount Moto, they have some very clever engineers and are fighting Apple with tight hardware/software integration.
The sad news is that Google owned Motorola... Now i don't want any Motorola, not even for free or as a gift.
AnonD-130551, 11 Aug 2013Yes, they could theoretically do that, but they wouldn't. It would make 0 sense, as it would j... moreIn Tizen will be interesting who's dependes of who's? If Samsung to Android or Android to Samsung for Android devices dominance.
It's all going to boil down to Hardware & Price.
The Nexus 4 was a potent mix. Extremely powerful hardware (at the time) at an extremely competitive price. Going along those lines the new Nexus should have a Snapdragon 800, 3GB Ram and 16GB+ of Memory.
I'd snap one up immediately....
It won't outperform the LG G2 with Snapdragon 800 and ALL the other 2nd half 2013 phones coming with Snapdragon 800s. Motorola released this phone too late in the year.
AnonD-4697, 11 Aug 2013Android goes for free as long as Google want it to be free. That is a Fact.
If Google want... moreYes, they could theoretically do that, but they wouldn't. It would make 0 sense, as it would jeopardize Android's dominance, and thus jeopardize Google's ad sales. Remember, Google makes money by selling ads. That's basically it. They want to do everything they can to increase the number of ads people see. Android is their clever way of doing that.
If they start charging for Android, even if it's not very much, SOMEBODY won't play ball and will use another OS, or work on their own. Samsung is already starting on their long-term plan to wean themselves off of Android and onto Tizen, which they control. So Google has to make a better OS than any OEM could and they have to do it free. That's what keeps their strategy working, and it's a good strategy.
its seems to be good ,,but wait for it,,
If Motorola won't sell it's Nexus 5 in Europe it's will be very bad news. :(
