endust, 12 Aug 2013If this is true, talk about hypocrites..right...saying oh that plastic Samsung so cheap. Now, ... moreYea, it's true that Samsung plastic looks cheap. But, is the price tag cheap? No. It's the same price tag as the iPhone and the even more premium HTC One at launch.
If Apple decide to use plastic on their CHEAPer priced product, it's fine to me.
Plastic is ok if you use high quality ones. The Lumias & HTC One X are plastic. Look how good looking they are. Look at how cheap Samsung is.
Samsung innovation has been stagnant awhile too. Because their source of idea, Apple, is too. Those Air gestures? Nobody uses it. Everyone I know seems to shut those features off. They usually doesn't work and they're battery killer.
What you get with the S4 is better camera & better processor. That's it. No new useful feature whatsoever. The LAG is still there though. Touchwiz? Ughh. So many design inconsistencies. It's contradicting.
Seriously though, would you be against it, if the Galaxy series design can be a bit better? Like Nokia maybe? Do you want it to stay ugly?
Anonymous, 12 Aug 2013Tell that to LG prada Please tell me what the iPhone copied from the Prada back in 2006-2007?
Why don't you take the first iPhone that came out with the first version of ios and a Prada as it was back in 2006, and take both of them and answer an email. Then you tell me what the simarities are. Ok?
Oncom, 12 Aug 2013Never call Apple as inventor. Apple can only take advantage of what already exists. Big liar.Apple using existing technology which others fail to make it popular and make it very nice to use. Eg touch screen phone is also here many years but none of the vendors have made it popular. Apple uses this existing tech and make it user friendly :)
Oncom, 12 Aug 2013Never call Apple as inventor. Apple can only take advantage of what already exists. Big liar.Apple invented the modern smartphone and the concept of an "App Store".
If you think apple just copied the iPhone from the LG Prada, then go ahead and look at a video of someone using an LG Prada back in 2007 and compare that to the first iPhone and iOS.
There is absolutely nothing similar between them, other than the fact they both had rectangular screens.
Magnetic detachable dual screen touch device?
one for input
another for display
Never call Apple as inventor. Apple can only take advantage of what already exists. Big liar.
GalaxyShit4, 12 Aug 2013forget about innovation, first remove the effing itunes dependency, it's there for ages now. W... moreHow do you sync playlists of thousands of songs from your computer to an Android phone? Answer is; not as easily as plugging into iTunes and clicking sync, I can tell you that.
forget about innovation, first remove the effing itunes dependency, it's there for ages now. When first iphone was launched the world wasn't that advanced for mobile devices, so it worked plus a lot of existing ipod owners would buy the new iphone, so it was natural for apple to keep things simple to add itunes as layer to sync up. Now things have changed, but they are still there, what do they think are people still so unaware of how to sync up their mobiles? Add Bluetooth file sharing, add a file manager, improve maps, that'd be more than enough for the next iphone. it will sell like hot cake if they remove these annoying lack of simple things. there's no excuse for the any annoying dependencies or lack of most basic stuff.
The reason of lak of innovation is They r bussy in courts shame on u apple
Finally they are ready to drop the effing ego they have and bend down to consumer needs, I never liked the arrogance of Steve Jobs and the way he boasted about iphones at their launch. Although they brought a lot of innovative stuff in iPhone one should not be bragging like it is truly an original device, even in first iPhone they copied a lot of stuff, like its design, the name iPhone it self was a linksys branded phone and they picked it up and dumped linksys with the money power they had. I am so happy to see them being bent by consumer demands finally. There's no point in spending 750USD on a effing phone that can't get many things done that a stock android can. Even symbian was better OS than iOS, it's Nokia's failure to let it die, they simply could not attract developers to develop app, plus it was hit by lack of good touch screen devices until finally they release N8 which i believe was their first capacitive touch screen device and it was already halfway through 2010, symbian still is one of the most complete mobile operating system, gets all basic stuff done that a mobile OS should do. Anyways i am glad that Apple is following android way, i hope they retail it for less than 350USD, else it can't be called cheap device(i have a nexus 4 for 350 usd, so i consider anything priced above it a costly device).
made of plastic? that's the copyright of Samsung. Apple is copying Samsung!
I bet you when the apple panel of boards saw what android flagships could, they probably replied "OH Shit" Now we are in trouble if these phones can do this! Anyways I hope their stubborn minds will change as they relies they are light years behind the android community.
[deleted post]What do you mean iTunes doesn't work?
It works. Does what it does.
I haven't plugged in my iphone to my computer in, I can't even remember the last time.
Most people I know with iPhones never plug it into anything. They don't even know how to use iTunes. They just buy the phone. Put the apps they want and they use it like that.
NH Zedge, 12 Aug 2013You're right but Apple doesn't use plastic for flagships lately.Apple never had "flagships". They just have an iPhone. 1 phone. This would make the first time in their history of making iPhones that they would have 2 different iPhones.
Some people don't want the fastest processor and the best camera. They just want something that won't break and works. That's it.
endust, 12 Aug 2013If this is true, talk about hypocrites..right...saying oh that plastic Samsung so cheap. Now, ... moreI'm an iPhone user. iPhone 4S.
To answer your question. What do I have to say about the plastic iphone?
Well, first of all; this is not about the plastic iphone. It's about apple being worried about the rate of innovation.
But, I think that the plastic iphone is a cheap plastic phone. It's not the first time they've done it. It is the plastic MacBook all over again. It'll be overpriced and will have quality build issues. I'm sure. It'll be good for Apple to have a cheaper iphone.
As fat as that goes, it all depends on the price. If they sell it for $300 bucks unlocked then, how can you complain?
As far as the build quality of Android phones, It all depends which one you're talking about. Some are cheaply built, some aren't. The Galaxy Cooper feels super cheap. Galaxy S4 doesn't.
peter, 12 Aug 2013wasnt i phone 3 3g 3gs all plastic?
lets go back to the past. There's no iPhone 3
The first iPhone (2g), but just called iPhone was metal.
The 3G and 3Gs were identical. Plastic back.
iPhone 4 and 4s were identical. All glass
iPhone 5 is aluminum and 2 pieces of glass in the top and bottom.
Out of all of them the iPhone 5 is the worst choice for materials. Painted aluminum scratches easily. The iPods are horrible. Just go to any apple store and check them. They're all scratched up.
I have an iPhone 4S. It's a solid phone. Battery life sucks.
The best material or a phone in my opinion is the Lumia 720. Go pick one up.
