NASA, 13 Aug 2013actually nokia released some QWERTY keyboard phones with asha platform. but most people don't ... moreIn Jamaica the Asha 302 is the most popular sold Nokia Phone due to its cheap price yet has wifi and WhatsApp the (in thing) 3.2 MP camera with Qwerty keyboard etc sadly i doubt the 9720 is going to be a hit here
Clark, 13 Aug 2013Poooorrr mdN, its 2013, where are you living, nokia have KILLED SymBian AND they will continue... moreLOL sorry, but I know quite a lot about that. However, they stopped making Symbian THIS year, and I bought one THIS year because Asha is OK, but they don't have enough features or good cameras, and WP8... Doesn't even have some of the stuff that Asha has. And I don't want iOS or Android. Anyway. FYI, there's still some 100 million Symbian users out there looking for a replacement for their phones. At least BB is thinking of their old users - even if BB is in deep crisis, they didn't kill their (probably) money making OS completely trying to get old users to switch to the new, untested, stuff.
Apple or Nokia, 13 Aug 2013I bought the Nokia E6 just when Nokia went over to Windows.
Smartphones are as good as the ... moreAgreed there. I bought an N8 even after they stopped making Symbian because it's exactly what I wanted at the price I was comfortable with.
The fixed focus was quite an unfortunate decision, just when Nokia really needed success they sort of crippled most new S^3 phones with that "extended depth of field" decision. You can still take close-up photos if you hold a cheap magnifying glass in front of the camera, but of course it's not the most practical or elegant solution.
I know a few people still using the E52 for example, there's nothing on the market to replace it. At least BlackBerry took care of people who still miss the old OS, even though some may find it funny, for a lot of people it's "if it's not broke, why fix it".
actually nokia released some QWERTY keyboard phones with asha platform. but most people don't know they even existing.
Nokia Asha 210
Nokia Asha 205
Nokia Asha 302
MdN, 13 Aug 2013Nokia, do you see this? Now, release a new Symbian phone. It will sell better than this, or so... morePoooorrr mdN, its 2013, where are you living, nokia have KILLED SymBian AND they will continue to make SMART fEatUre phones on their asha platform AnD the cheaPest winDoWs phones are lumia 510 & 520. YOU can buy either of them.
Is that a joke?! phone from the past, maybe they will sell it as antique?! ha ha ha
MdN, 13 Aug 2013Nokia, do you see this? Now, release a new Symbian phone. It will sell better than this, or so... moreI bought the Nokia E6 just when Nokia went over to Windows.
Smartphones are as good as the user needs them to be so the 9720 will may sell, if a person does it want a high end or very latest phone
The reason why I commented is the E6 is the only other 8Mp qwerty phone with the BB Q10
It would have been perfect except for Nokia ( i still don't know) installing a Fixed Focus camera when as Auto focus was a standard E72 has AUTO FOCUS
D espite the dwindling Symbian app store the most frustrating thing is Fixed Focus means NO bar code reader scanner QR reader, you can download the app but the phone can't read it,
So despite that 8MP the Bold 9900 5MP would have been better
Poor blackberry..... they ran out of ideas so they grabbed there notepad from 3 years ago and randomly chose a phone to make.
Nokia, do you see this? Now, release a new Symbian phone. It will sell better than this, or some Lumias.
Symbian has always been a better os compared with bb os(dunno how many people this applies to). anyway bb is way too pricey!
BB hater, 13 Aug 2013Three steps closer to "For Sale" board.hahahahhahahaha !! omg so true!!
This phone is truly needed.
For all of those people who saw Blackberry 10 and couldn't stand using the operating system.
A phone for all those unhappy Z10, Q10 and Q5 users to go back to.
LOL "perfect if you upgrading from a FEATURE android/ios/wp" lol its like having a Ferrari, money to get a brand new Ferrari 458italia and you decide to get a TATA indica 1.4i as the "PERFECT replacement" PMPROTFLMFAO!!!!!!!
TruthSeekr, 13 Aug 2013I am tempted to write "Who will buy this phone" but looking at the number of BlaclBe... moreI have seen many people with the S4 the problem is that it very easy although they have different shapes to get it confused with an S3
