Hectic 2 looks like T*Omnia but the Optical mousepad has a mark. The model name is SCH-W550(4gb for SKT)/SCH-W5500(4gb forKTF)/ SCH-W555(16gb for SKT)
Pics at: www.widgetslab.com/2008/09/29/samsung-anycall-heptic-2-announced-comes-with-touchwiz-and-50-widgets-by-default
And then Both Heptic 1 & 2 are just TouchWIZ where as T*Omnia is windows mobile.
And since this phone is the upgrade version of Samsung F480, now, it has 50 kinds of widgets compared to 15 widgets of Samsung F480.
The international version of this phone isn't released yet outside Korea.
Hey, this IS NOT OMNIA. This is HAPTIC 2 phone which is known as Samsung F480 outside Korea. Thus, this phone is the upgrade version for Samsung F480 (aka Haptic Phone in Korea).
Look at the two vids. The Korean guy is comparing Haptic phone versions 1 and 2:

Thanks DespertaFerro! I guess I'll be getting the HTC Touch HD instead. I really don't know what's going through the heads of the people at Samsung, but they should've just made this version of the Omnia from the start. Or they could've made the T*OMNIA available to other countries. Again this is a lost sales opportunity for Samnsung with this truly remarkable phone. Samnsung boycott anyone??
Davidov, 04 Nov 2008Before South Korea, the Omnia has been released in Japan. I thought with the same specifications. The Omnia released in japan has a propietary UI, no WM, you can check it, you'll see it doesn't have the "finger mouse" pad, there's just a button
Anonymous, 04 Nov 2008I know this phone is exclusive to Korea, but does anyone know if it will have a language optio... moreIt will NOT be possible to switch to english, is so bad, but since it is a Windows Mobile phone it doesn't have this option. It's still unclear if it will be possible to change the korean ROM to english ROM, but perhaps impossible... The prior phone samsung released in korea, the Haptic 2 did have the option to change everything to english, but it was a samsung propietary User Interface, no WM. I also wish T*omnia can be switched to english...but that's impossible...
I know this phone is exclusive to Korea, but does anyone know if it will have a language option and the ability to switch to English? Also what frequency's or bands will it run on?
Anonymous, 04 Nov 2008I've read that this version has not wi-fi and gps.. That one was for Japan. It was released by Docomo one of Japans main phone network.
the widgets looks nicer too ... wonder if they will improve it in the next ROM upgrade ... i would hope so
I've read that this version has not wi-fi and gps..

Shou Ji, 03 Nov 2008 Samsung R&D now working on 12 megapixel CMOS module with optical zoom, 256GB SSD memory and ... moreWow, if it is true, Samsung is really making waves in the phone market.. I am very sure it will grow it's market share further..... Viva Samsung! But seriously i just hope Samsung uses better material for it's phone. I am not bias , just stating my honest opinion. Have a Omnia and is nothing compare to my nokia e71 in terms of build. the metal trimming of my omnia is peeling, whereas my e71 is real metal, no peeling. you get my point?
What really got my attention are those cute korean girls, that its, that's what is missing for our cellphone market, hot chicks!111
looks similar to the 930sc recently announced by softbank
Anonymous, 03 Nov 2008dude are you in korea at the moment? read again man its exclusive on korea onlyI know that. 'Omnia'is for international market and 'T Omnia('T'is one of the brand names of SK Telecom)is only for South korea.
What I meant was that... yes, T Omnia is really nice phone, but i wanted to say that except T omnia, most of other phones like KF700
Virgo, Viewty, M4560, Blackjack 1 and 2, korean version of these phones performs worse than 'world' version of phones.
